the edit button only works in the first 60 minutes...

You must be logged in and the Delete X is next to the Edit button.

again, that option is only available in the first 60 minutes or so.

For instance, I can not delete this post, but I can delete my last answer, cause it was only 49 minutes ago.

I thought you could click the flag and then a moderator would decide whether or not to delete it.

If it is beyond the time limit you can't. If the delete button is no longer there it's not going to happen. You might be able to ask someone at houzz.

I asked a long time ago. It seems like they said you cannot delete the very beginning post after 60 minutes, at all, once the time has passed. The originating post. Whatever you call it :)

Moni, if you move your mouse to the upper right hand corner, you should see "report comment". It probably looks like a flag for those who can see it, but if you're like me, you can't see it, except rolling the mouse over it.

I bet you cannot report a comment when it's your own post.

"edit", then make any changes, including deleting every letter of your post. It will "disappear".

Moni, if you are asking about an original post with the subject line and topic yours, I don't know ;) Sorry, I know that isn't any help.

But I looked back to a comment I'd added to a post last Friday, and I still have the option to either Edit or Delete entirely there today on Wednesday 5 days later, both buttons seem to work.

Here's the information about the time limits on editing. "There is a 1 Hour limit on editing original discussions - for correcting typos. There is a 1 week limit on editing comments."

So if you started a new thread you have an hour to make any changes. These are pretty generous, other forums I am on have a 15 minute limit, period.

I will not post pictures of the kids again, since they are out there forever now.

Before, when you linked the in from photobucket, you could delete your picture at photobucket, and it would be gone.

Gardenweb/Houzz deleted the post for me.
