I'm not sure where you are located by they are sold at rogue Valley Roses, Rose Petal Nursery, Burlington Rose Nursery, and Angel Gardens. I didn't go to see if they are in stock at these nurseries but HelpMeFind lists these four as selling it! Good luck

I got one from Rose Petals Nursery a few weeks ago. It was 1 gallon and I put it into a 3 gallon because the roots were coming out the bottom and it was a good size. Doing okay so far!

Today I suddenly spotted rust on a young plant of La France. I removed all the affected leaves and put them in a closed garbage container. The roses around it are all very close together and I hope the rust doesn't spread. I suppose it's the yin and yang of rose growing; for all the joy there must be some pain. Well worth it though, to have so much beauty in one's life.

Beautiful, Jeri! Those sure look like the blooms I have on my “Not Louise Odier-maybe Grandmother’s Hat” I always look forward to seeing photos of Grandmother’s Hat, so I can compare them to my rose. My rose does so well, that it almost HAS to be Grandmother’s Hat. Like your true Grandmother’s Hat, it’s fine despite the awful heatwave we just had. I didn’t prune mine at all this year. I left most of the OGR’s alone, and was extremely grateful that I could do so without a problem. Mine has occasionally lost the entire first flush to balling. One pleasant side affect to the sudden dry heat (90’s), was that all the buds opened just fine. It’s that cool nighttime fog that can cause them to ball. This time the heatwave hit at the perfect time for my “Not LO-maybe GH. They all opened perfectly. Thanks for all your wonderful pictures, Jeri. I may not always comment, but I do ALWAYS enjoy them. What Roseseek said . . . But also . . . Grandmother's Hat doesn't have Octopus arms. It bells out GENTLY, but it is eventually upright. A slightly rounded urn shape. The canes have good substance, and don't flop about. As he noted, there are very few thorns. the canes are largely smooth, and easy to work (or walk) around. As to the suckering ... it happens JUST often enough to provide a recurrent source of new, rooted plants. We've taken advantage of that to share our original rose with many other people over the years, which is an additional joy.

Slumgullion, I totally understand...I have been trialing roses in pots for the last 5 years moving them around the yard to learn what microclimate they like, I have an area in the back patio that I have drawn and redrawn plans in my gardening sketchbook on what to plant. But I think this pandemic has encouraged me to bite the bullet and put things in the ground because life is too short to wait to experience an unexpected beauty. It is true, Belinda’s Dream is not perfumed like other varieties but it is a vigorous and buxom beauty. I was concerned after planting it in its spot that it was not blooming well like it did in the pot, but now that it’s been 3 years, the blooms are a commanding presence in that corner of the yard!

I got one at Annie's Annuals. Once you get one, you might want to know that it roots amazingly easily. I just literally stuck a cutting I had just pruned off into the ground, and it produced a new plant.

thank you so much! I called Anni`s Annuals, but they didn`t have any. When they have them, they are the one gallon size, and they don`t ship them and I live in Nevada. Then I called Rogue Valley Roses, and they are also out, but plan on having some bare root Grandmother`s Hat in the fall. So now I am on their list to get one. I am glad to hear they root easily. I might try rooting one, if and when I get it. So thanks again.

Thanks, Jerijen, I called Burlington Roses and they had one Grandmother`s Hat left. It is an own root band and sounds like a pretty good size, so I ordered it. It will take over my one remaining spot for a new rose!
