Comments (21)Do you have a friend of your mother, whom you can visit and recall some of the things about your mother or things from the past that might have involved her? Possibly you may hear of some of your mother's adventures (escapades?) that you weren't aware of, earlier. Something more to add to your list of memories about her. On the other hand, another older friend/substitute that you can visit who may be lonely at times and who would appreciate a visit, and with whom you can discuss some of the events from the past that will help you recall matters close to your Mom. Comments (14)Happy Mother's Day everyone. We will be having a cookout at Amber and Mike's with everyone pitching in and bringing food. We are not going to have ours until around five in the evening. I went to a Mother / Daughter banquet at our church this evening. Had a nice meal prepared by the men, I think mostly by the preacher. Had cubed steak with brown gravy, chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, green beans, cottage cheese and coleslaw. For dessert we had ice cream, sherbet and some little pastry things with fruit in them. 11 years agolast modified: 11 years agoHappy Mothers day to all! This is a hard time, my first mothers day and no one to send flowers to or cards or call. My husband's mother is still with us in Oklahoma so of course she does still get all of that.
I definitely miss my mom.

Me and Mom, 1966. Mom passed away when she was only 58, back in 1989. I miss her every day.
11 years agoMy Mom, who passed in 2011 at 75. She really was my best friend and had a great sense of humour. She was 73 in this photo.
11 years agoMy Mom in 2001, about a year before she passed away. A stroke, 10 years earlier had left her paralyzed on the left side. She never left the house without her beads, earrings and bracelet on. I still miss you, Mom.
