I've got a fever...
Comments (13)Toni - If by instinct you mean that anxious feeling in my gut so intense it's gonna burst out if i don't do it, then yes....instinct. I don't believe oncidiums, the subgenus oncidiinae, or any hybrids crossed with them flower as freely and long phalaenopsis (Those orchids you see at every store that only have leaves as a base). But, they get pups, and pup like crazy. So in time, and under ideal conditions, during flowering there will be a LOT more than any phal can provide. Those that like to propogate will appreciate this orchid more.I believe blooming can be spring/fall and last a month +, maybe 3+?. I don't know a whole lot about their flowering since oncidiums are not as popular as phals. Meijer is the same with their orchids, most are typical and boring, but once in a blue moon they nab something like these. I personally like the larger, white flowers more. But according to orchid forum, it is a cross between the subgenus and something else...so it might not get as many pups or flowers. If it were physically possible and we were not total strangers, i would hug you. ...I'm ecstatic over the idea forcing forsythia into bloom. Thank you for sharing that. I am just now trying that out. Purple - i was incredibly careful bringing them home after reading how you were with them....I had a friend help me. Told him to wait in the front of the store for me to pull up just so the cold would not harm it. Might have been a little paranoid......See Morecutest 'Doo doo? Comments (9)It's lovely. But if you can't, it doesn't matter. ''So anything to do with lifestyle -- clothes, food, louboutin shoes , hats, bags or pens. Things that make you feel good. Everything to do with your vision of what a 'lifestyle' should be. I'm very lucky. The teams who work for me are fantastic. There's the architects and the management people, the chefs, the couture crowd. They create a lifestyle around me just by being so supportive. That's why management is so important. It just doesn't run away. You don't create something and leave Authentic louboutin shoes. Comments (30)I am so glad that you piped up about your Frigidaire issue, Practigal. Thank you. I don't think it was a coincidence that you were participating in this thread. So..is it crumbs of rust dropping down from the burner...or, is it rust coming up through the paint...or is it oxidation of the gas itself, that maybe it is burning "dirty"? Good ideas, Mrsnyefnyef. I have an update, but I'll share it at the end of my post. ; ) I agree, Eurekachef. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the BS rangetop after test driving it (unless you don't like standing over a high heat cooker.) "my regrets comments was that I just didn't want you to finish your project and then turn back and say, well I should have..." Ah, I understood what you were getting at much better that time, Gooster. That makes a lot of sense. Here is the update: I found 2 incredibly good deals at Goedekers website this weekend for scratch and dent Miele's. The cooktop (yes, a cooktop, not a rangetop) is 42" wide and has 6 burners. They looked like they are configured *perfectly* for the way we cook. Originally I was looking for all the same BtU's on the burners, but these should work fine because of the configuration. Originally I was looking for sealed burners, which this has. The knobs are off to the side rather than on the front. I find this to be a nice feature since I tend to lean into whatever I'm cooking. This way I won't be lighting the stove with my belly! Also, little ones will have a harder time reaching the knobs. Finally, at about $1200 less than full price, it was too good a deal to pass up. They also had a set of 30" Miele Master Chef double ovens for almost half price (open box). I hemmed and hawed for a while on this one. It's definitely more high-tech than what I was originally looking for. In order to do the cooktop, we'd have to head into wall oven land. Wall oven land was full of techy gizmos. Given that, I might as well try one that is highly regarded by bakers and has the lowest repair rate in the industry (according to Yale Appliance's website, anyway.) Thank you all for helping me process this big decision! I really appreciate the input each of you gave me....See MoreMixed feelings about my Dad’s passing (long)
Comments (22)There's not just the broken relationship with Dad ... but the complication of having resented brother, as favourite, while growing up ... but with a residue continuing over the years, which was involved with the request/demand that you forgive. Life does get complicated, doesn't it? I rather like the idea of the two chairs, inhabiting each in turn. Sometimes when I have an issue with God, I imagine myself stepping out of my skin, going a short distance away, looking back and asking what response I imagine that God would make. Though we're supposed to respect God unquestioningly, I've suggested to a number of folks that it's O.K. to have issues with God: He/((She) ain't eggs ... She/He won't break when given some rough handling. I hope that you can find/work your way through to a satisfactory resolution to this issue. I hope that you have a trusted friend who is hugely respectful, caring and willing to listen (and who knows how to keep her/his mouth shut not only during ...[ but after, with regard to others, as well]). Sometimes a leader or regular person of faith can be helpful in dealing with such an issue. Good wishes as you proceed on this portion of your life's journey. ole joyful...See Morerob333 (zone 7b)
