I've had this rose since last year and from what I remember, she bloomed mostly in spring and then started up again in autumn, with some scattered blooms in between. Florence, it's wonderful to hear from you too. You are such a sweetheart! In regards to the statues, I had them shipped home. I actually got two, a boy and a girl. The boy is under Golden Celebration. They are only about two feet tall each. Robert, how I envy you living in Oxfordshire. The gardens there are fab! It's so easy to fall in love with Princess Alexandra, isn't it? Such large blooms and such great form. Do you notice that she starts out coral pink and then becomes a cool pink color later? Also, her blooms last a long time on the bush. I too love Young Lycidas, as well. All magenta and purple tones, quite lovely. Juliet

njmomma, Choral Majority is a good late bloomer to have. Linda, I am not sure why two you picked for favorites, Her Royal Highness and Westbourne Peaches Pickled are starting blooming so late. I will have to look them up to check but didn't think they are registered as late blomers. Nancy, I remember UP AGAINST THE SUN did not bloom for me the first year I had it. Then I moved it and thought I killed it and bought another one. But the first one came up in the spring much to my surprise. So I just added extra fans to it with the new one I had bought. Chris, I have daylilies that have yet to open their first blooms of the year. Of course, I also have some that just finished for the year. But as long as I have ones still to bloom then I am very happy. Mantis, that is a shame that you forgot your camera. I just know there was lots to see at Ashwood.

Meow! Two boxes arrived today! And Dad told me last night that we were only waiting on one. Well, in his defense, he was pretty drugged up. He came home with a tired achey back, so I slipped some catnip into the margarita he had with dinner. What a combination! It always gets my fur in a tizzy...lol! You've all been great to play with, even you humans weren't too bad! LOL! I need to go take my late-afternoon nap, so I'm going to let my lovely assistant take over and do some accounting. I aree she should be called princess especially since Camilla is, though she won't use the Princess of Wales title out of deference to the late Diana, for which I give her credit. And apparently "Princess Di" was incorrect, although it was dubbed by the media. Her title was actually Her Royal Highness Diana, Princess of Wales until the divorce when she was stripped of the HRH. So they are not Princess Di and accordingly not Princess Kate since they take their title from the husbands. (Where are all the feminists? LOL) From the link below: "Prince William's current title is Prince William of Wales. Under the rules of British titles, his wife would be styled Princess William of Wales. Not Princess Catherine, not The Princess of Wales, and especially not "Princess Kate." (The thought process is the same as it is for the wife of John Smith being formally called Mrs. John Smith.) This is assuming of course, Grandmama, the Queen, does not give William any additional titles in time for the wedding." William was given a Dukedom by Elizabeth though so she is now also a Duchess. Just found this: "The official title of the former Catherine Middleton is Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge, according to the statement issued by Queen Elizabeth's press secretary today." It also clarifies: "Calling a woman "Princess So-and-So" is reserved for royal-born women." So that's why Princess Elizabeth was proper, Princess Di, Princess Kate and Princess Camilla would be incorrect. That does not however explain "Prince Phillip" unless that's another media title. It's interesting how a woman can marry the King and become a Queen, but a man can't marry a Queen and become King. Of course it's because Kings are "higher" in rank so to speak, but it's an interesting thing, especially in these times of so much political correctness. But I can't really find the title changes that would happen for instance on the following: - Elizabeth dies, then Charles becomes King, and Camilla is Queen. - Charles dies. I realize Camilla cannot become head of state and rule so therefore William becomes King. Does Camilla then forfeit the Queen title to Kate and revert to Princess or does she retain her Duchess of Cornwall title? I don't recall history enough on it nor do I know the royalty rules.
