Where can i buy double flowered blood root?

I have the single plants in many places on my farm and transplanted some of them to around my yard and they are doing very well. But i didn't know there was a double flowered one. I saw one place had it for $28/plant. Anyone know where else I might find it. It it a native like the single ones? I LOVE the plant; the leaves are so special, and the flowers are such a delilcate white. They are blooming right now everywhere in my yard. LOVE them!!!!!

Try searching under the botanical name - Sanguinaria canadensis forma multiplex. It is a native, just a double flowered form of it (hence the forma). Other than Plant Delights, it appears most other vendors are currently out of stock for this season.

thank you. Now that I know it exists. I have to get one...... the singles are so cool. It need to attach a picture. I have quite a number of "clumps" growing in my fence line. Almost zapped a couple of them by mistake when I was spraying the darn garlic mustard which is sure looking healthy this year!

Boy do I know how ya'll feel. I purchased a Cajun Hibiscus at a garden show the name "Red beans and rice" a beautiful red with yellow markings. I just had to have. Well I watched over it all winter, and found just the spot in the garden for it this spring. Last week I noticed a single bud. Boy was I excited. I was outside eating lunch with my DH and grandson, when the bloom caught my eye. On further investigation I could see a beautiful flower, but no where near the color it was supposed to be. Oh well, maybe I'll try again this October when the garden show returns. I couldn't even find a match on the Cajun hibiscus web site. Oh well all a part of gardening. Keep those hands dirty. Where can I buy peonies online this time of year?

Hi, I live in Coastal Maine and I am new to this forum. I am also confused by the advice and websites that offer peonies. I assumed that many sites wouldn't ship peonies in spring because it was difficult to send the plants, but here many people are saying the won't bloom in the same year as planted in the spring. Is this just for bare root? I have always bought peonies at local nurseries in the spring and they have always bloomed the first year and come back the next year faithfully. The only time I had any problem with peonies, was when I got some from a local nursery that were dug in the fall. I planted them the same day I got them and in the same site as the rest of our peonies, and they didn't come back the next year or subsequent years. I too would love to find a place that will sell and ship peonies in the early spring.

You could try Garden Vision Epimediums. She sells some other plants aside from epimediums and has double bloodroot listed at a decent price. Double bloodroot is one of my favorites. Have you seen double trillium? Another stelllar plant!
