Hollyhocks from seed - What am I doing wrong??

Ania K.

Hi everyone,

I've been searching the forums for an answer but have come up empty. Last year I sowed a few varieties of Hollyhocks from seed and transplanted them into the ground in late summer. They continued to grow and sprout bigger and more leaves. I thought they would do fine and come up again this spring but all that's left of them is dry little stems that show no life.

I thought they would come back since they seemed to do so well after being transplanted from my pots to the ground.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!

-Ania
