I'm so glad you responded to the dress thread. I've been meaning to ask you about your LBD. You posted about it last year and I looked at the Horny Toad website and loved the styles but never ordered and promptly forgot the name of the site. Thanks so much for reminding me! What is the style name of the LBD you got? I remember finding it on sale elsewhere (Sierra post maybe?) so even if Horny Toad no longer carries it, I might be able to find it on another site. Please let know. Thanks!!!!

I saw the Rosemarie dress and figured it was that one. I'm going to order that one and the empirical one.

IIRC, you mentioned the dress when you were looking for something to wear for your 50th birthday, or maybe some other event? I may be wrong, but it was a long thread about clothing. I'd never heard of Horny Toad (now Toad & Co apparently) but after you mentioned them, I checked out their website and saw several things I liked. I just never got around to ordering and then forgot about them. I couldn't remember the website until you mentioned it again yesterday so this time I bookmarked it! Thanks again

Great Tina, I will duly note those plants to be sent to you when it quits raining here and thaws there for good in Spring. That is very cool about the 'Jack' memorial planting. Glad to contribute to his honor. Earthly, The puppy is being a puppy! How could you not love him? I recommend lots of chew toys, Kongs are good stuffed with a treat or peanut butter. Maybe bitter apple spray on stuff he's not supposed to chew. LOL- don't know how it affects plants! I'm doing fine. I am taking a hiatus from the swap scene for a bit to concentrate on work. ICK! Am I nuts, or what? DD loves school in southern Cal and just returned there after a month winter break at home. She's wonderful and we miss her, but it's very exciting to see her spread her wings and discover things of interest in and out of school. She thought this program (link) reaching out to pre-adolescent girls would be a good volunteer opportunity and was just accepted into training. She loves going to schools to teach and interact with the kids. Good for her. We are about to get blown of the map with an incoming storm so I'm trying to do all things requiring electricity NOW! And if we miss that Superbowl because of a power outage, which are common out here in the heavily treed boonies, I will be one crazed woman! If everyone would just root for the Seahawks for me, I'd be much obliged. They are accustomed to huge, loud fan support and this game is clearly stacked in favor of the opposition in terms of fans. Time to plug in the rechargeable radio before it's too late.... Even if you hate football, just OHMMMMMM think positively for the home team here: we've never had a team even go to the Superbowl before now. Thank you! You all stay warm and dry, and I'll be working on Shelby Ray mom/Tammy's birthday box in the days to come, assuming I am not out giving my chainsaw a good workout to clear the house of fallen trees :( Here is a link that might be useful: Girls, Inc.

I took a hostess gift to a friend hosting a cookie baking party last month-- I had a selection of local, artisan spices and last minute, I picked up 5 "Cookie Dough" instant tickets to add to the package. All duds lol.. but wouldnt it have been fun had we had a winner?! One of my siblings gives powerball tickets in Christmas cards-- never had a winner there either but I think the gift of chance is kind of fun. I don't buy lottery tickets otherwise so I guess it's a novelty.

Faron, Arcy, Gooster, I am amazed and none too happy with how much you have to book everything in advance at these resorts (we are also staying at the 4s on the Big Island). It doesn't feel very pampered to be pestered about what time I am having dinner three weeks from now, exactly where, and to tell me that if I am 15 minutes late I will lose my table and that I need to finish in 2 hours! Gotta love Spring Break. Anyway, we are now scheduled on our "vacation" to within an inch of our lives. On the BI we got surfing lessons, sunset helicopter tour over the volcano, outrigger canoeing, a car for a drive around the island for the day, and of course every day access to snorkelling and sup.. In Maui, Molokini crater snorkelling, the downhill bikeride from the crater, and more surfing lessons. Pearl Harbor and shopping in Honolulu (if we arent snorkelled out maybe Hanouma). Did I miss anything? Can I take a nap now?

We've worked for ourselves for over 40 years. DH works from home and his truck (it stays a mess!) At one time we owned two large office buildings, so we had an office there to give him a place to go during the day. I stopped going when we moved out (took almost an hour to get there, another back). So I've been totally working from home all this time (with the exception of going into the office for a few years). He does all the legwork (checking on our commercial real estate properties, leasing, dealings with tenants, problems) and I do all the paperwork (leases, accounting, increases, etc). I've worked all morning (end of month, first of month) at the kitchen table, in my pajamas. Dogs at my feet. Cats on my paperwork. Can't beat that, especially since it's raining today. DH leaves daily, although he doesn't need to. He likes to work. He's gone by 4am. Walks, swims, showers. Checks on properties Usually goes to grocery store on way home, and is back here by 10. Sometimes earlier, sometimes later. We are slowly retiring, and should be fully retired by 2020. DH would like to travel more. Me? I'd rather stay at home. The only problem is as soon as he comes in the door, the TV is turned on. I like quiet. Especially when I first wake up... okay, all morning! He can't hear as well, so it's too loud for me. I think he gets bored sometimes, so we are trying to decided between pool or no pool, so he can entertain himself a few times a day. Working from home has always allowed us to make our own schedules. Taking time off for traveling is easy. When our parents were all living, it was extremely helpful. I think it is seen by some (one friend in particular) as being cushy, not much to do, we don't work our a$$es off. Maybe not as many hours as she and her DH (both residential RE agents) do, but we are always in working mode. It never fails on the way out of town or while traveling, we get phone calls. All times of the day. Not to mention, not being able to turn off our minds sometimes.

Maybe...this isn't the sort of dress I'd wear to a party. It's more of a day dress, easy to throw on and wear almost anywhere. I ended up wearing a Lands End dress to my party! After looking high and low, at every price point, that was the dress that looked best and FELT best. I think LE just calls it a "fit and flare" dress, though I notice they don't have my cute black and white dotted version this spring. It is SUCH a comfortable dress.

Sue, I don't mean you intended to wear it to your party but you mentioned it when you were dress shopping for your party I think. Or maybe it was when you were going on one of your trips last year? I know it was last year sometime that you mentioned it...I think you even mentioned that you might (or did) buy a second one as back up in case something ever happened to the first one b/c you loved it so much. Anyway, when I looked up the dress when you mentioned it, it looked like the perfect cut for my figure and I wear casual dresses a lot in the late spring/summer for things like meeting friends for drinks, special, yet casual events at my kids' school (Catholic school so lots of Masses/prayer services at the end of the school year), etc. did you find it runs true to size? I was planning to order a medium b/c I don't want it tight at my midsection but it says medium is an 8/10 and I'm closer to a 6 or 8. I will probably order it in both sizes but thought you might have some insight.

I am usually a 10 in dresses, sometimes 12 in pants, and I have size Medium, so you might want a Small.

That Rosemarie is so pretty in all its different colors! I think I have to get one :) I'm so shortwaisted that dress-shopping is difficult; that empire waist should hit me just right.
