can you help me?

I recently
went for a few days to NL to see my daughters, living and working in St. John’s, so I had the opportunity to do bird watching,
in St. John’s (Long Pond and BowringPark),
MiddleBay and Flat Rock, Brigus…

I saw and
took pictures of common birds: Mallards, American Black Ducks, Northern
Pintails, Greater Scaups, Herring Gulls and Ring-billed Gulls, a juvenile Eagle
mobbing gulls at Brigus. But I think I found at Long Pond and at Bowring Park
Tufted Ducks; my field guide says they are rare: could I have been so lucky or
I made a mistake?

Thanks.
