Needing ID and HELP with this fuzzy one!

I'm still very curious to know what this plant is...

My friend has been having problems with it since he brought it from the garden center: leaves are turning yellow and shriveling up. I don't know if overwatering is the problem because he waited a couple of days before watering it and hasn't since then (it's been about a week) because the soil still isn't quite dry...

It gets about three to four hours of direct sunlight, too, from an east-facing window... should it be getting more...?

It's a crested Echeveria - I don't know the species. Leaves yellow and die at the bottom as the plant grows and puts out new leaves.

Exactly. And since it's indoors and that soil retains a lot of water, I would let the soil completely dry out and then still wait another week before watering.

Last September I planted pennisetum "Cassian" and it has taken off nicely. It has produced purple(ish) fox tails similar to what you are admiring. The foliage is mostly green with very little red, but it's a great little grass. About a month ago I planted panicum "Shenandoah" (one plant split to create two). It has put on new (green) growth and kept the original pretty red leaves and airy flower heads. Just got my first Honeybells, and it is very vigorous, the new plant has a whopping number of shoots and eyes waiting in the wings. You can feel the energy off this plant. I think yours looks like Honeybells to me. And oh gee, you have inherited or bought yourself a nice clump of Golden Tiara. I am so pleased with the little potful that I acquired this year, GT does not know it is a small plant. Nothing wimpy about it. Cannot wait for it to look like yours!

Thanks for the IDs people. I managed to find info that might prevent me from killing the poor things. And since you're all so nice, can you please help me identify these two other tall/ short plants? I've had them for a while and they've somehow survived my negligence. This one i found sprouting in another succulent pot i bought a long time ago. Could it be a very slim and tender Euphorbia/ Monadenium ritchiei? It has grown several inches since i replanted it months ago. This might be crested, I'm not so sure. All i know is that it takes a lot of abuse and i love the mushrooming/ brain-like form!

What Andy said. Then, when it's warmer, gradually acclimate it to full sun outside, as it's equipped for just that - full sun. You'll then be able to water it more often (2-3x a month) and its growth will be more splendiferous than it already is.

Got it: it's an Echeveria setosa forma cristata! Thank you, Cactusmcharris and Andy! A small bit of info can do wonders on Google!
I'll let my friend know about acclimating it and watering... he thought he was killing it; I'm glad it's not the case!
