I've never liked roses...

Until now...

Hi All,

I want to try propagating a gorgeous rose growing in my community garden. I've successfully propagated a fig and a boysenberry from cuttings and now I think I'm ready for the rose. I've looked at a lot of information on the internet and watched a few videos. Looks pretty straight forward but I do have one questions that I can't seem to find an answer to... Does it matter what part of the rose bush I take the cutting from? This particular bush has a lot of huge thorns on most branches but I noticed some branches have less thorns and those thorns are less wicked--for lack of a better description. Seriously, the blooms on this rose are beautiful and have a wonderful scent but the thorns! they could be weapons!! I would rather take cuttings from the branches with the lesser thorns, they are mostly at the top to the plant...
