Rehydrating scion wood?

Does anybody rehydrate scion wood before grafting? Lots of the stuff I've collected especially the tips of apricot cuttings and italian and mt Royal plums are real dry. When I cut them now the cambium is still moist green but it's not at all anything like some of the other wood I've collected . Is it ok to put them in a cup of a tad bit water give them a drink in the fridge for a day or few before grafting them?

I have done it last when I got some in the snail mail from Quebec and
it was sent without damp paper,..surprisingly it worked, not sure exactly how
I did it, defiantly not in standing in water I know of,..could be just emerged the whole thing in water for a couple of hours. I thought they be toast but they took!

Thanks Konrad. I'm just putting about 1mm of water in a glass putting the tips in it so it can draw water in than covering with plastic bag for a few days. I'll let you know if it works.

Thanks Bon- when you talk about budding- are you referring to t-budding? if yes, should the buds be harvested from dormant wood or should the bud be harvested during growing season. if the latter, presumably, it could still survive 2-3 days in the mail if wrapped in moist paper? am happy to try and gaft using the budding technique. anyone willing to trade/sell me some budwood?

Still have lots of nice sized scions left. for $100 Plus shipping I’ll send you a 30 scion variety pack. Each scion could be cut into 2 very easily or more if your a talented grafter .This could be cut into 50-60 scions enough to keep anybody busy for a long time this spring.
