husband being an insensitive a** (long)
Comments (11)Well, in all honesty, I didn't expect my problem to be handled with kid gloves. So here goes... First, no he didn't show any of the traits I had problems with when we were together for the first year and a half. I really (perhaps foolishly) thought that no one could keep up a show for that long. He was kind, good with the kids, and helped me with anything I asked. It actually seems that some of the problems we had came from his spoiled childhood and inability to grow up. They slowly crept in as time went along. I was completely blindsided by what happened with his ex. It was give and take for both and both swear it never went any further than text messages. I still keep an eye out for any bs of the sort. I was married to a man who, (yes, You guessed it...) slept with his ex wife the whole time we were married. He was 10 years older than me and had me snowballed. It got pretty abusive before I got brave enough to leave. Maybe, I am crazy, but the first child was planned when things were good. This child was NOT. I wasn't ready to have any more kids ever. As for the pill, it might be reliable, but it doesn't do anything for someone who's body reacts adversely to it. I tried 7 different kinds before my dr told me I just couldn't take it. We used alternative methods and all it took was one time of it not working. I am getting my tubes tied this time. No chances, ever again. The man I married can be incredibly sweet, thoughtful and kind for long stretches and maybe it is all my fault that I let him get away with stuff. When I get to my breaking point, he knows it in no uncertain terms. I am beginning to think that the only way to make him "behave" is to be at that point all of the time. I made it clear to him that I have been divorced once and I was on my own for a good while before he came along and I would do it again. I lost everything but my kids the first time, and I would do it again to have a life that doesn't make me miserable. I know I can be rather b!tchy when I am in intolerable pain, but I just can't understand his fear of dealing with it. I honestly think he feels if he ignores it until the baby is born then it will be over and we will be okay. He just doesn't get it. If he is like that now, what happens if I end up with cancer or other health issues? I just can't take things the way they are. I told him that if he chooses to be like that, he is going to get out. I am done. I am not letting him off the hook this time and no excuses are acceptable. Maybe, I am a fool, but the good news is that I am not alone. I don't know anyone who has made all of the right decisions in their life. But that doesn't mean that I have to continue to make the same ones over again. I remember the advice I gave someone else, and I needed the reminder....See MorePaint color help needed! My husband is trying me nuts!!
Comments (13)I like the bm cappucino, is there something close to it at sherwin williams? My husband knows the one guy at our local store so we've been pretty faithful to their product. Thanks for the kind woods justretired, I appreciate it! Funcolors, thank you for the insight on the primer. It's definitely not builder's white. We primed in preparation for paint but then life happened and we never got around to it. I'll need to check with our painter and SW and figure out if we need to re-prime. I appreciate the color suggestion. I would like to keep away from the orange tones. I know it goes well with the floor, we painted our family room tatami tan and it goes sooo orange in the daylight, it just doesn't work for me. My friend came over who is really good with paint colors. She mentioned since the top of our table and the front of the hutch and buffet has gray trim, we should go potentially go that route. I've never considered gray, what do you think? I've taken an additional photo to show the trim line. I kind of like SW sandy ridge. Or am I seriously color blind? I feel like I could tie the gray in with the rug/window treatments but I need another accent color in here as well. I am so lost. thank you all for taking the time. You are too kind....See MoreHelp me design around my husband’s audio equipment!!!
Comments (21)Audiophiles are indeed particular souls, and with good reason. The equipment is an investment, and when you start looking at the uber high-end brands, there's no comparing it to even one of the better lines such as Bose. No idea what brand of equipment your hubby owns, but he values it and that's all that matters. I agree with the suggestion to simply get a larger console to tuck away as many of the components as appropriately fit, but I would not fret the fact that there are speakers on the floor. I think we tend to get a bit obsessive over having our homes picture-perfect, when the reality is that we share them with others who have a host of interests and tastes, and they too should have a say in what goes into a room. Besides, those speakers are not at all obtrusive IMO. (You want obtrusive? These ginormous, tall corner pieces are very similar to my father's Klipsch horns. They currently sell for just under $15k. This is not your Bose sound. ;-))...See MoreKitchen wall remodel advice plz!! My husband and I are feuding lol
Comments (17)I would paint the olive green areas a white shade white for starters. What is behind the brown door now? Assuming its a pantry ?? but not sure..... You want to mimic a fridge with your cabinets ? If its a pantry now what is the problem to take it away and put expensive work into the same spot for basically similar storage ??? . If you wanted an appliance there.... or counter ..or it was key in your configuration.... in that sense ...but what is the pantry all about now? here are additional images of spaces with ceiling pitch/ bulking cabinets upward isnt always the best. Might be wise to look at the kitchen as a whole/ this area of the home w a cohesive plan. Your kitchen looks older and dark...what is the lighting? RE: the beam ? just one ? ..beams are an accent ..... but are there other more important issues?...See MoreTexas_Gem
