Tile soap dish has fallen out ... can it be repaired?
Comments (5)Just a note that i read here in the past. The soap dishes like you've got were referred to as dangerous because people grab the bar that is meant to be for wash clothes. You might be able to find a match that doesn't have the bar in case you are concerned about this safety issue....See MoreSoap dish with washcloth holder for tiled tub/shower?
Comments (10)I have that exact Simple Human set up in my downstairs shower. It is the only one I've ever had (after innumerable cheap ones from Linens and Things, Target, HD, etc) that didn't rust and stain the fiberglass walls. The others I've had looked like chrome but didn't hold up like real chrome. The thing I like about the one pictured is the shelves adjust from right to left, too, so you can have a tall bottle with the other shelf offset. It has nice cloth holding hooks, and the soap doesn't slip through the wire (through the upper edge) like it did on some others I've had. The suction cups actually work, too. I really love Simple Human products. (they have the best toilet bowl brushes and holder, too.)...See MoreDish and hand soap at kitchen sink
Comments (53)Thanks for the other suggestions and ideas. Max - Love those! I'd probably buy the fig one. Allison - Thanks for posting your photo. I didn't think about a ball jar. I like how that looks too. Walnutcreek - Thanks! It's a different style, but clean looking. I like the other too glass ones also. They might compete with the size of my dish soap bottle though since it's taller. Marisa - They look nice! I wish I had a Home Goods here. Zoey - That was the Target one I was talking about. I like that a lot. I'm glad to hear yours has been working well and might give it a try. I saw nothing appealing while I was out recently. I'm going to check again tomorrow. Thanks!...See MoreGrab bars???
Comments (9)Not tacky, just get some decent-looking washcloths and hang them neatly. Make sure the bars are rated for the weight of the users and put in blocking. I'd put them where recommended by someone that knows about that stuff and not worry too much about how it looks. You can get bars in a variety of styles, so they should be able to blend somewhat with the style of the room. I used one as a towel bar in my half-bath. It's placement is a compromise between optimal grab bar and optimal towel bar, but in a 5x5 room it's more for support if injured or unsteady as a wheelchair won't fit in. Also put in a toilet paper holder/grab bar combo. Liked it so much I got one for my mom, ironically installed it just before she hurt her knee. She loves it! Not sure what she would have done without it....See Morejaviwa
