Suggestions / critique my kitchen plan

I'd love to get some advice / suggestions / critique on the design of the kitchen for our new home.

I've never designed a kitchen so I am something of a novice!

Some background:

*The kitchen will form the hub of a family homestead. We like to cook a lot. We also intend to do some preserving, some butchering, making big batches of stock, rendering fat, etc. in addition to the more usual kitchen activities.

*We may include an adjacent outdoor/summer kitchen too at some point, hence the door. Even if this doesn't eventuate I am going to want easy access to outside for fresh herbs, lemons, eggs, etc. so I think a door somewhere along that wall is going to be handy.

*The fridge and freezer will both be chest-type (i.e. opening from the top). I know this is unconventional but we are settled on this.

*I've just chucked the benches and sink/stove/etc in where I think it looks okay, but I am totally open to complete overhaul of this layout. As you can see there is no definite line where the kitchen ends and living room begins.

All suggestions, advice, criticism, things-I-should-consider welcome!
