I've been wondering how the wedding went! I was worried that you were getting the stormy weather that I was experiencing here in Huntsville.

I've been hoping that you would share pictures of the happy event and tell us some fun details.

Thanks for asking.

They got the wedding in right at sunrise before the storm hit, Friday am.

It's a log cabin on the lake where they are spending time this weekend. It's one of my son's clients.

Just them, the preacher and Tracie, the bride, had son's best friend ,from the military, drove down from Connecticut to surprise my son. Awesome that Tracie and my grandson were able to pull off the surprise.

Her friend, a photographer was there for picture taking.

I had my family moment with them Sunday, for Easter and I was completely in agreement with them regarding the marriage ceremony. Totally.,

Tracie and son, Parke grew up together since age 9, and went to school thru high school. Lived in the same neighborhood. They reconnected at their class reunion, this past fall and knew they were meant for eachother.

This is last night at Dreamland BBQ with Parke and Dave and others.They both are 82nd Airborne brothers.

Today, a beautiful moment at sunrise.

Most oldies here know my son, grandson thru all these years. Son doesn't mind my sharing these two.

Yep, it's clear! Poured soda and vinegar, let it sit, then poured hot water, and use my spray nozzle on high and BINGO clear! Lesson learned: Never put sauerkraut in you disposal

That is defintely a Cicada, commonly called a Locust or some ppl call them "17 year Locusts". They primarily live underground and can cause serious damage to tree roots. Generally in mid summer they emerge from the ground and as glenda mentioned above, you can often find an empty shell hanging on the lower part of a tree or shrub. The shells are a translucent light brown color and they are the exact same size and shape as the adult insect. When you find a shell you will note that their is a split down the back where the winged adult emerged from the shell. Immediately after emerging they enter the mating stage and the males emit that loud sound you heard as a mating call, although they have been known to make the sound as a distress call, which no doubt explains why it made that sound when you found it by your light. The sound produced by the cicada is believed to be the loudest sound produced by any insect, and it has been known to exceed 120decibels, which is loud enough to cause permanent harm to the human ear if they were close enough to your ear when they make the sound. I would bet that you have often heard the sound but never really knew what produced it. The sound is a very loud, low pitched stacato buzzing noise that is generally coming from high up in a tree. The sound is loud enough that under some circumstances it can be heard up to 1/2 mile away. There are some cicadas every year, but they have a 13 to 17 year cycle when they emerge in huge numbers. Not only are they harmless to ppl, in N.China they put them on a bambo skewer and deep fry them as a delicasy...LOL

I frequent Joel's downtown Trussville, when their menu calls my name :o) Sometimes I meet Linda from GA now from Al, who lives in Remlap Or there's The Summit, which is 459 for you coming from Trussville onto 280. I live close to The Summit. I have new wheels, will travel :o) Next week, first part is birthday for my son, turning 48, so maybe the end of the week or the next week? Will see how Linda's schedule goes. I have her email and phone number as well. Great to see you reconnected to the KT.

Glenda, I've "known" the two Parkes for many years, through the KT. The setting for the wedding was perfect, and I'm wishing them a perfect life together. Love the sunrise pic.

This is when they first became friends, in the fourth grade. Tracie is behind the Hall Kent sign in the white jumpsuit, looks like, and my son Parke is the chubby one in the white and blue baseball shirt next to the teacher in the blue suit.

They both are now 49.
