Largest white sink that will fit in a 30" cabinet?

Hello,

Can anyone suggest a white sink that will fit in a 30" cabinet that is larger than 24"?

Not sure if you want an apron sink, but the Kohler Whitehaven has a model that's 29-11/16" wide and fits into a minimum cabinet size of 30". It's the biggest one I could find that would fit in a 30" base cabinet. Here's the link: Kohler Whitehaven K-6487

The Whitehaven looks nice. The actual width that fits into the cabinet is 28". The 29-11/16" dimension, mentioned above, references the front that faces the cabinet fronts.

We have a sink that's 30" from side to side at the top flange, whose 10" deep basin fits very neatly into a 30" cabinet. Obviously, though, the flange has to sit on top of the walls of the cabinet, so that's what supports the sink instead of it being hung from the counter above. This is not recommended in general. If we ever had any problems with the sink the whole thing would have to be torn up to replace it. I thought that was an acceptable risk to take, and I love having as big a sink as I want with as little undersink cabinet as possible.

For most undermount sinks, esp. stainless steel types, there is about a 1" lip around the sink to secure it to the countertop. You really need about an inch between the edge of the lip and the cabinet for the clips to be mounted. For a 30" base cab, I'd say the largest practical size sink would be about 26" total width,(+/- 24" inside) and even that may require a little trimming. Also play close attention to front to back depth to insure you have enough room for the faucet and 3"-4" of counter in front of the sink, depending on the installer and the countertop material. I have a 34" base cabinet, did a search and found a 30" x 18" outside (28"x16" inside) rectangular single bowl from an ebay seller called afaucet. The sink has arrived and looks to be of good quality 15 guage, rear drain like Blanco with drain grooves. You might check out that option, too.

I've been looking at this myself, and also am down to the wire. I am further limited by wanting an offset drain. It would help if I could just decide on either stainless or granite, for a start! I've been considering the Blanco Stellar super single, WaterCreation ssu3018A, and the Elkay granite ELGS3019 (not sure if it could squeak in). I measured the interior width of my 30" cabinet which =28.5". So I figure that any sink that shows the actual basin width to be less than that will fit. I am thinking that the interior basin width plus about 1/4" (for the thickness of the basin wall) would be about right? I can have the lip/flanges sit on the cabinet, but since the dishwasher will be right next to the sink cab, I wonder if it will be a problem to have that lip extend a bit into the dishwasher's space (more than 3/4"). Not a problem on the other side, the flange can extend onto the top of the next cabinet's wall. But, for a 25" sink, the ones with the largest interior dimensions are: again, Blanco Stellar medium (23") Acero SS (23" and includes grate and drain), Ruvati (also comes with grate and drain, 22"), Ukinox (22") and for granite -- Elkay (22 3/8), Silgranit II Diamond (22")

It depends. If this is an undermount AND you know the interior dimensions of the sink base(a) AND you can find a drawing of the silgranit sink showing the outer dimensions of the BOWL (b) - or ask if someone can measure it for you AND if (a) > (b) then it most likely can fit - possibly with a little trimming of the top of the sink base - so the lip around the bowl is flush with the top of the cabinet. You might also check front to back inside the cabinet and the position of your faucet, subtracting for any obstacles -like a window sill - that project from the wall and the thickness of backsplash material. Sometimes, both the sink and the faucet can't fit and sometimes the sink and faucet can fit, but you can't use the handles.

I've always like this sink from Signature Hardware but it is a little dear. The farmhouse style would give you a 24" x 18" basin: Baldwin Fireclay

Lastly, Silgranite's non-super single is a great option with a great price and gives you about 19" x 22". Blanco. I just had to go digging through all these small white sinks. on a recent laundry room project. Hope one of them will help.

There are times we have installed a 33 inch sink in a 30 inch cabinet. Factors to consider starts with the width of the bowl as opposed to the width of the lip. There is nothing stopping you from having the lip of the sink overlap the adjoining cabinets.

If you want to get into it, there is nothing stopping you from cutting bowl shaped cut-outs from the sides of the sink base cabinet to fit in a larger sink, as long as the drain hole(s) wind up in the sink base cabinet.

Thanks everyone. I was hoping to find a sink with a 28 or 29 inch basin that would fit, as my husband thinks a 24/25" sink is too small. I don't think a farmhouse style will work with our kitchen (we're going for a more contemporary style, and also I think it would be difficult to make work with our Ikea/semi-handmade cabinets). I'll check out the above suggestions.

Blanco super single SS sink fits in a 30" cabinet with no cutting. The interior is 26" wide. It was the larger interior space I could find in a SS sink without cutting the cabinets, and under $500. The sink was $250.

I have the Kohler Cape Dory which might suit your needs. Mine is not a bright white- I think the color is "salt".

@ K L, I'm almost positive the answer is yes (I don't have access to the drawings at the moment).

BTW, the color is "sea salt", and there are a variety of whites, tans and muted colors available in a mineral/crackle finish.

I'm intrigued. I'm going to try to find a spec sheet that details the width of the exterior portion of the bowl.

I *think* the Bakersfield will fit in a 30 inch cabinet. I think I will likely order from Home Depot, then return if I can't make it work. I prefer the style of the Indio, but I think it is unlikely the Indio would fit.

I don't understand why you have to drop to 25" sink or cut cabinet frame for 30 inch cabinet instead of manufacturers just making a 27 or 28 inch sink. This is just depressing.

I am thinking of trying the Silgranit Blanco Precis Cascade in white in our 30 inch cabinet . The previous owners installed a 29'' sink and cut a little to the right of the cabinet so my guess is this one will fit in mine since it is 27.5''. It might be something worth looking at!

Funny, this was my question that just popped back up. We ended up with the Kohler Indio in a 36" cabinet which works beautifully with the Karbon faucet. We weren't confident we could fit a large enough sink into the 30" cabinet, so we gave up the fight.
