Help! I don't Understand The Pressure Canner Instructions!
Comments (15)Keren - if you compare that recipe to one of the tested and approved ones (linked below) you'll see that the ingredient measurements differ greatly. The approved one allows for only 1/4 cup oil and much less of the low acid ingredients. The approved one is a thinner sauce which allows for better heat penetration and much more accurate measuring while the one you used would require a much longer processing time even if it was safe. Plus, as a general rule oils are not allowed in home canned goods but the approved recipe does allow a small amount after testing. But 1 cup of oil? No, sorry that is way too much and allows for far too much bacteria to be insulated by the oil and not killed by the processing. As to approved canning recipes for Spaghetti Sauce there are many to be found in approved home canning books such as the Ball Blue Book of Canning, the Ball Complete Book of Home Food Preservation, NCHFP, So Easy to Preserve, Small Batch Preserving, etc. There are many discussions here about approved books and sources and about unapproved sources. But trying to home can with using one of those sources is just asking for trouble and unsafe foods. The first rule of safe home canning is that you cannot just make up or can your own recipes. As I said before, the choice to accept your recipe or to do it correctly with a guarantee of safety is yours to make. Personally I would not trust or eat the recipe you used. Comments (45)OP here. Haven't had a chance to read all of the comments--work 2 full-time jobs and am stealing a few moments from day-job 1.. But just got off the phone with a member of the tile association referenced by CT and they said to do the same test he said to do from get-go so will do that when I get off of work. My electrician "friend" is picking me up so I'll have to go on the down-low, lol. Sophie, you are on-point and Joseph--more power to ya! On a serious note, water isn't visibly coming down--but it's an old house with layers of plaster so may be taking its time. When water was coming down, I smeared some pre-made grout along cracks in the grout b/t wall and floor and water stopped. Been about a month or 2. I started this post b/c I noticed that ceiling's plaster was cracking more and spreading more and a piece of plaster fell down so thought problem was starting up again or had never been fixed with the premade grout. I have more time tomorrow to devote to this so that is when I'll read over everything carefully and pull out the contracts. Really, really appreciate all of you. Comments (22)I didn't say every Toto does this. However, it is a problem specific to my model and I will not reward Toto for making this by giving them additional money buying another toilet from their company. It is a known problem with this model and others Toto sold using the same bowl style, There is no solution other than replacing the bowl with a different style. I did a Google search and found other people complaining about the exact same Toto model I have. One person said Toto let them swap their bowl for a different style during the warranty period, but they still had to pay labor charges. Mine is out of warranty and I'm going to move on to a different brand. https://terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/toto-toilet-question.13921/...See MoreHow can I understand that It's time for watering?
Comments (12)It's all about judging your soil If you find it dries out too quick add some coco coir on top to retain moisture.coco coir also absorbs moisture from the humidity in the air much like the roots . Bottom line everyones soil is different so you be the judge of what it looks like when it's drying out. Don't wait for the leaves to droop that's going to stunt the growth greatly as the plants biochemistry has to adapt to low water levels This is why people use coco coir It is infact true you can keep certain plants in coco coir in non dry climate areas and never have to water them for months as long as the pot is fairly big. it will absorb and retain moisture.this is why grouping in big pots is good and it won't affect root growth. Perfect coco coir mix is. 1 part Coco coir,.. 1 part organic compost,.. half a part non clay garden soil (must have)......See Moreenni chauster
