Dual Flush Toilets, why don't I hear much about them?
Comments (13)I've got a Kohler Persuade installed in my ensuite. Had it in there for 6 months now. No problems at all and is great to clean because of the skirted design. Most of the time a small flush is all that is needed. I'm a big guy and haven't had a clog yet. The Terry Love forum is great but they seem to be quite biased towards the Toto brand. I've got an Aquia II waiting to be installed in my main bathroom when I finish the reno's in there. I'm sure it will be a fine toilet....See MoreToilet sprays water out of bowl
Comments (10)So we installed the 2nd toilet and it flushes fine without spraying water out of the bowl. But the tank leaks on the new one. We're going with a plumbing supply store now and avoiding the Home Depot/Lowes stores where we bought these two. Anyone had experience going after these stores for installation costs? Our plumber returned twice to replace toilets we bought at Lowes and we'd like to recover that cost since the toilets were defective....See MoreToilet only flushes with hot water and soap!
Comments (6)Hi.. I have (somewhat) the same problem.. My toilet only flashes with dish soap. Without it, the water just swirls without the 'gulp'. The problem started when I poured water (with soap) that I used after hand-washing a piece of garment (with a bar soap). I guess the soap scum has clogged the toilet. To make things worse, while trying to fix the problem, I poured Drano Crystal both into the bowl and the overflow tube. Now, the toilet no longer flushes with a gallon (or so) of hot water. (Before putting Drano, it did.) It only flushes (100% of the time) if I poured dish soap before flushing. I've been doing this for about a month and now I'm tired of doing this every time I flush. If the toilet flushes (with dish soap), doesn't that mean the clog is gone? What do you suggest as my next step for fixing this? Thanks in advance!...See MoreWhy don't I have water?
Comments (4)yep, get a generator and be prepared to run it. have an electrician wire in a transfer switch so that worst case all you do is plug in a cable and crank the genny. you won't want to run it all the time JUST for the well, but you will need to run it when you need water. even those tankles WH require electricity to run them. this post reminds me of a service call we got Sunday night. Local Police Dept calls screaming that their consoles AND backup base stations are down and they are working off handhelds. the other tech hauls butt to get up there and see what is happening. as he turns a corner he sees NOTHING! the entire downtown section was pitchblack. so he asked the dispatchers how long power had been out and they said for about an hour. the UPS they use is good for 45 mins tops, it is just supposed to hold long enough for the generator to kick in. seems that "maintenance" on the genset was stricken fromthe budget 3 years ago and this was the first time that needed it. we are still trying to figure out how much to charge them for stupidity....See Morehomepro01
