Removing small rust stain from white jeans
Comments (20)Sooooo glad to run across this, used bar keepers friend on a dry toothbrush and just a few rubs and it came out, perfectly!! My stains were like train tracks across both legs from throwing the jeans over a the rail on my stairs to dry. have done this 100 times, no idea why it stained this time, but the bar keeper's friend got all of it out....See MoreRust stain on granite - help!
Comments (0)I'm away from my home visiting my family, and my DH called me to say, "You're not going to be happy with me. I kind of left a metal can on the counter for a day or so and there is rust stain I can't get out." Our granite is only about 6 months old, so this is a bummer. It is a leathered finish, that to date has been bullet proof. (Leave your husband for 3 days and that changes I guess.) He said "it is obvious. You won't like it." ugh ugh Any suggestions for getting this out? Besides that we might have needed to seal it again and missed the obvious window before something happened. Needing sympathy and ideas......See MoreWhat exactly is "ice white granite"?
Comments (11)See that's what I thought, that it's more of a quartz than a granite. The place that sells is saying to seal it like you would granite, but I just don't think that it is granite. And Rebecca, I totally hear you about marble. I love the beautiful grey veining in carrara marble, but my husband and I joke around that "we just can't have nice things..." Lol!!! This counter top isn't that expensive, so it can't be marble. I think they're asking $520 for a 60" double vanity top, so it's definitely not "high end" pricing. Granted, it's a warehouse type place so the prices are significantly lower than at the big box stores, but still. I actually can't find anything similar to this, but I shall keep looking......See MoreNeed backsplash advice for white ice granite.
Comments (7)you will have to wait since the slabs vary greatly. it may work, it may not. here is white ice w/a tumbled marble, close to silver travertine. all of these are white ice and all are different. you can't possibly decide on anything until you see you slab. better to wait until after it's cut and installed in your kitchen with your lighting. Silver travertine would be nice on the floor though. but if you have to have that for a splash, go larger. with more of a busier slab, and a varied tile, you want a larger size. 3x9 would be ideal. here's a silver travertine and this size tile is prob a 2x8. sometimes this stone can take on very yellowish-beige tones, so be careful if you order it (i actually have the french pattern in my living room) this is a 2x4 Grecian White marble. Perhaps this coloring would be better? but again, wait and see how your cabs look w/the slab. you also want 4000K lighting to keep the warm yellow light away. this Argento Gray would look nice w/the silver travertine splash...See Moregardenerlorisc_ia
