Should I hang this wall art??
Comments (8)If you like them and they go well in your room, you could mount them above the bed and put a larger frame around each one...look for something affordable that you could finish yourself maybe. Or use molding to create frames on the wall in which to hang them. If you don't love them, you don't want to throw good money after bad, but if you want to use them you could probably find a pretty inexpensive solution to making them look larger for your space....See MoreHow to warm up this bedroom?
Comments (24)Since you cannot move the casegoods at this time, I suggest they stand next to each other for now, and the valet moves elsewhere. I would personally paint out the pale dresser, but at the very least I suggest you join up the tops (fabric under glass hack )and get matching knobs and tall mirrors for both. Look for a reed or pattern shade and burlap coloured drapery to be hung high at the windows. (Be aware that if you do not adjust the dresser, you can not hang drapes). Move the beds over a few inches to make room for the draperies. Add a darker print pillow in chocolate brown to each bed, and a more substantial lamp. I suggest something round or oval hung above each bed, either framed in a deep shade, or hung with dark ribbon. These changes will give more depth to your palette, and help balance tones better throughout. If you wish to take it a step further, also look for high loft throws for the end of each bed. Comments (11)Top of the artwork on both sides should form a straight horizontal line. In this case I would make that a small but noticeably lower than the top of the TV. Because you are framing the fireplace with the same chair I would continue the symmetry with your pictures. In this case 2 on each side. They don't have to be the same pictures but they should relate. I'd also suggest making all the picture frames a darker tone to provide contrast to your wall color. Just my take, I'm a fan of symmetry when you can make it. It's more soothing on the eye....See Morewhat height should I hang drapes in this room?
Comments (19)Most often, when you see photos of Roman shades, they are not fully extended. If you don't have a light blocking or privacy need to drop them down to the sill, then your concern about an inside mount interfering with the crank wouldn't be much of an issue. I think it's good advice above to pay for a rendering since custom work is pricey. Here's a link to a Houzz article showing several examples of blinds or shades on one window adjacent to curtains on the next. Some are more successful than others, IMO. https://www.houzz.com.au/magazine/6-ways-to-successfully-mix-window-treatments-stsetivw-vs~79276970...See Moresuzyq53
