Lighting a baja bench or tanning ledge
Comments (10)Scott- I thought I saw landscape lights 2 years ago at the show, no? Never carried them or installed them. I cant imagine colored landscpae lighting looking decent with the exception to Disneyland, haha. tlvancouver- they are called a "colorcascade led light bubbler". Varying nozzle sizes and flow rates dependent on desired height and water depth....See MoreWater Depth of Tanning Ledge / Baja Shelf in a Vinyl Liner Pool?
Comments (6)Hi in Syracuse. We were surprised and happy to read your inquiry since it is so similar to our design issue and in the same area you are located. We are also in the CNY area and attempted to build a pool last year. We hit many issues-most having to do with our pool placement in our yard, that we have since changed. One other issue we had was the same as yours with the sundeck and how to do it. We have a pool ledge/sundeck in our design and we are wondering if you could share with us how yours was done and if you have success with it. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!! We wish to have it in the first step if it's possible. Our PB was not familiar with the sundeck and has since done one as well. (Maybe we have the same PB?). We are also wondering if you did install returns and if you felt you needed them. We are told we could have 6in water on first step and we are not sure if that's enough, although we think it is. Our sundeck design extends 6 feet. Any guidance/photos you could provide would be wonderful. Thank you in advance and we hope your pool turned out fabulous....See MoreHow deep for a shelf?
Comments (4)My suggestion is placing it at either 6" or 18" of water with no slope. Either depth is good for the little tikes. 12" isn't good for either the entry/exit rise or for the next steps rises either. Thanks for supporting the industry with your new pool purchase, you'll soon find out what all the Hoopla of pool ownership is all about. Trust me on this, it's a lot more than just the swimming. Everything in my life of raising 4 children revolved around our swimming pools. I don't say this just because I'm a pool guy, I'm a pool kind of guy. Congrats!!! See ya Kelly...See MoreDo you regret or wish you had a tanning ledge?
Comments (46)It's such a personal thing. My husband loves it. The teens love it too. They are always hanging on it and have played King of the Mountain etc. Not so much laying out on it... Personally, I regret that we can't play water volleyball which would have been so great for older kids. But since the ledge cuts into the shallow end, it's not possible. (It hasn't occurred to anyone else in the family though. I don't want to rain on their parade. But for me, personally, yeah, I would prefer the whole play area in the pool.)...See MoreWendy Baldwin
