OMG, as a mom myself to a grown son (26y/o), I can sure understand why you were initially pulled into that April Fool's joke! I hope that you were able to get back to sleep after you figured out that it was just a joke. Personally, the adrenaline surge after reading something like that would have kept me awake for quite a while after. How wonderful that your son is able to travel and work and see the world like he is. Thanks for sharing your great story! Lynn

You fooled us with that title, Daisy. o j

"you are describing something that is absolutely not normal for magnolias of any variety" Okay, I did some research and revised my thinking based on these pictures: http://www.extension.umn.edu/garden/diagnose/plant/deciduous/magnolia/leavesdiscolored.html The problem is that every magnolia that I have seen in the Chicago area looks like that. And, many years ago, I sprayed my magnolia tree with iron chelate which didn't help. And, that raises the question, why are only magnolia trees affected? If I don't forget, I will take and post pictures of magnolia trees in my neighborhood, in about 6 weeks.

Anyone remember back when the real Quilted Northern commercial, animated, had the people quilting on a frame with knitting needles?! That was hysterical! They did fix it eventually...which was a bit of a shame just because the first version was so absurd and amateurish (like even if they're just drawing it, you'd think they'd look at pictures of the real thing first...). Agreed that the Rustic Weave was very funny. I especially liked the super special Extra Virgin birch. :)
