Comments (151)LOL... one word... CATNIP! Lots of it! I think I've contacted everyone that I needed to today. If not, someone drop me a note. We're forecast for severe thunderstorms today through tomorrow night, so my computer time may be limited. I don't like being on when there's lightening even though we have cable internet. Fran, please let me know ASAP whether you hear from Carrie. That will be the deciding factor in what I set up for Joan. By the way, Jamie emailed me and is still trying to get in touch with Kim. I let her know that officially, I'd dropped them from the swap, but if they complete it, both of them, and send me DCNs and post contents, it will have them clear for the group with the condition that they will have to send first in the next MNF swap they join. I felt this was the most fair way to deal with it, if they both complete the swap. I invite her to hang about and get to know folks and she's assured me that she will :) I'm very happy about that! Oh, and I called the company I ordered from and they're putting a rush on the order, and I found out that it's always best to call the order in and request a rush. Have a really nice conversation with the young lady I spoke with. We discussed my theme gardens and she's going to be checking into GW. She's interested in seeing my Gargoyle bed and Naughty Garden and I'd bet she'd be interested in seeing some of the other Goth type beds and any of the themed beds. She was really interested in the possibilities of those. I told her she'd need to check back in a couple months to see pics of mine since they're still pretty dormant at the moment and it will take some time for the kids and DH to get everything tended to, especially in the new beds that we just started working on. Anyway, she was a really sweet young lady and we had a nice conversation and she tried to see if there was more she could do to get my order here quickly. The rush was all she could do, but I should have my order here sometime late next week or early the following week. So I'll be able to have Nikki's box to mail out then. Everything else is ready and packed. Or ready to be packed :) Though the longer I have to wait to mail it off, the more seeds I find to tuck in ... for cushioning, ya know? Comments (3)Yesterday at school we all decided to "get" our teacher. One of the girls said she couldn't come in due to a doc appt. then about half later I said I couldn't make it due to personal reasons. Right before lunch someone else said she had to take her baby to the doc for shots, she almost forgot. After we got back from lunch someone said she had an interview and wouldn't be in. About an hr later someone said she couldn't come due to a problem she was having. He goes hey guys it seems a lot of people won't be in but thats ok, he said he would be there even if only one person showed up. About an hr goes by and someone else says she won't be in. then he goes wow whats going on, are you messing with me? She said to him, maybe she had it wrong, and to ck. the date, he looks at Fridays date and we all laughed and said "gotcha" Guess you had to be there!!! It was pretty good really. I guess being back in school does have it perks if getting the teacher is still fun....LOL Lynda...See MoreSS Daily Support, Monday April 4 - Sunday April 10, 2005
Comments (29)Hey! Have a great weekend, everyone! Friday: Went to a garden party at the local nursery. Dress up affair with wine, appetizers and desserts while strolling along, looking at the new spring plants. They had a cool smooth jazz band. I met up with a gal pal there and it was fun! Saturday: Having a luau bday party for my 9 yr old. Starts at noon with hot dogs, SUN chips, and Capri SUN drinks, along with bday cake and Hawaiia music! Then we're playing Aloha sack races, pin the coconut on the tree, the wrapping paper game, limbo. After that, I have a video of "How to do the Hula". We're having everyone dress Hawaiian and greeting them at the door with leis and then taking their picture. While the party is going, my DD is going to print the pics and put them in little Hawaiian shirt frames and place them in the goodie bags, slong with Aloha mints, bracelets, and blow up beach balls. I have little Hula bears and other fun stuff for prizes. It'll be a fun day! At 3 o'clock, I'm going to veg out and crash!!!!! Sunday: Picking up my kids' cousin for the week (spring break) and we're heading for the Oregoin coast for a week. Life's a beach! After picking her up, we're going to visit my friend with the twins. The teens will watch the twins while I and my girlfriend clean house and help her get ready for a garage sale she's having next weekend. Sunday night, one of DH's friends rented a place and is giving a slide show. He's a photographer who travels the world and his shots are really awesome. It should be a GREAT show! Monday, first thing in the morning, I'm off to the coast! DH is putting together a new laptop for me, so I'm going to try to check in a couple times by wireless connection while I'm gone. Make this weekend a good one! PS: I forgot to mention, LAUNDRY!!!!! In between everything, there's the ever-present laundry. Raeanne???? Are we still doing laundry together on weekends? Comments (19)My sister's son is horrible every year and she never learns. A few years ago he called bawling his head off. He said he was at the clinic with his girlfriend and had to go, he would call her back. He eventually did, still bawling. He said his girlfriend was pregnant and they did not know what they were going to do, etc. My sis jumped into gear. She told him that he could still have all his dreams of college and so could the girl. She said she would help them raise the baby since she was only 45. She would do anything to help them. Call ended. A few hours later he called to April Fool her. He is so bad. My favorite is what my oldest sis did to me. We are 9yrs apart and when I was 19 we became roommates out of necessity. I worked at Macy's. I had a long line of customers, worked in hosiery so they are all demanding and I had a lot of loyal customers. The call comes in. She was on a chair changing a bulb and fell off. She is sure she broke her leg and could barely reach the phone. I told her I would be right there and hung up. I immediatly looked at my line and said, "I am so sorry, my sister just fell and broke her leg. I have to go right now." Being loyal customers they all told me to get going. Just then the phone rang. It was my sis saying April Fools. I held the phone to the line so she could hear them boo her when I told them what happened. Then we all laughed....See More- 10 years ago
