I have several dream cars. The first was a 1960 bugeye Austin Healey Sprite (tiny little car) that was owned by boyfriend when I was 18. 2 years later I bought one & then another & then a third. Like potato chips you can't have just one (+ you need the others for parts). 40 years later, I still have them. I also had a 1960 Chrysler Imperial when I was 18 (one of the biggest cars ever made & almost twice as long as a Sprite). It caught fire & I sold it. It took me 30 years to find another one I could afford. DH replaced the engine but it's no where near being finished. I am happy to just polish all the chrome (lots & lots of real chrome) & listen to the am radio. I drive (when I can see) a red 03 Dodge Caravan with yellow & orange painted flames (real, not decals). One of the largest car shows on the East coast is here (Cumberland MD) Labor Day weekend. Linda

A-Hem. Well...since you asked.... *grin*.... A VERY long time ago- about, oh, 18 years or so - I was at a slumber party with a couple of friends. We were roasting marshmallows on a bonfire, out in the front yard. And, since this was out in the sticks (and I mean...WAY out in the sticks, the closest neighbor was 5 miles away, and the closest neighbor to THEM was 5 miles away......ANYHOO....pardon, too many brownies, My mind tends to wander....) SOOOO....this was out in the sticks, and there were chickens running around in the yard. Poor, helpless, defenseless chickens. Lots and lots of chickens. So there we were, using old wire coat hangers (unfolded, of course) to roast marshmallows. Then, the unthinkable, un-avoidable, and totally a waste of good marshmallow happens. My marshmallow caught fire. And I don't mean *fire*. I mean....FLAMING, INCINERATING, little-ball-of-DEATH type fire. Yay. Naturally, I'm calm and collected....while the other girls are screaming their fool heads off. "YOUR MARSHMALLOW'S ON FIRE! YOUR MARSHMALLOW'S ON FIRE!!!!" Yeah, duh..... So, I react in an appropriate manner, of course. I start waving the coat hanger/marshmallow fire ball in the air, hoping to fan out the fire. Next thing I know, the marshmallow goes flying off the end of the wire, whizzing through the air.....ZOOOOMMMM!!!!...... And smacks a poor chicken RIGHT ON THE NOGGIN. Still flaming, with marshmallow-ey goo going everywhere, the poor chicken runs around bock-bocking all over the place. We all run for the water hose, and put the chicken out... But she didn't make it. :O( Guess what we had for supper the next night? Yep, roasted chicken!

OMG, as a mom myself to a grown son (26y/o), I can sure understand why you were initially pulled into that April Fool's joke! I hope that you were able to get back to sleep after you figured out that it was just a joke. Personally, the adrenaline surge after reading something like that would have kept me awake for quite a while after. a few years ago, while I was president for the local bike club, our monthly meeting fell on my birthday/April Fools Day. I showed up with a soft collar, like you wear if you have whip lash. Told everyone I was in an accident. At the end of the meeting, while I was up front, I reached back, and took my collar off, and tossed it to the members, and said, April Fools. It was a hoot. Yesterday, I had my hair colored. This morning, while serving breakfast at the school, it was truly fun to see the kids reaction. Not so speak of my boss. She just had to look away.. cause she cracked up when she looked at me. I am having a BLAST with this hair, and can't wait, till my girls see it. One comes later today, the other tomorrow. Moni
