Milk is almost always $1.99gallon here.

I found new work boots on sale for half price. That was still $99. But, for steel toe work boots, that look somewhat girlish and fit, that was a good deal!

I found a new red quilted chore coat at Costco for $15. Same coat at Workwear House was $75. Alisande, I know where you are coming from........red jacket and bright orange touque and no one is mistaking me for a deer come hunting season.

I found two step aerobics VHS tapes at a thrift store for .50 each. Hubby put them on DVD for me. I love step but it is not a popular exercise anymore (I don't understand that-it's low impact and gets my heart rate up there) so I can't find any good new workouts. It's funny to see the 90s outfits and music, but the workouts are good. Also found an old Nelson DeMille book in hardcover for .10.

i don't have any great bargains to report, but here in Pennsylvania milk is over $3 a gallon. That sounds like a fantastic price to me.

Yeah Rose, we were just over in PA at the Hermitage ALDI expecting to find cheap milk like over here in Ohio...WRONG...it was $3.66 at ALDI! It is $1.99 here so we just got it here instead. OH and ALDI was packed, it was like a zoo there...come home and it's a ghost town at our ALDI store...GAH!

$1.64 for a gallon of milk???!! We pay avg $4.25 a gallon in Maine!!!

I bought some really nice coffee mugs at a thrift store for 50 cents apiece and some cute juice glasses for 39 cents. Only three of each but it's enough for just the two of us. Love these Florida thrift stores.

One of the grocery stores here has been having the boneless skinless chicken breasts for $1.77lb which is a great price. I go buy several of the big family packages and bag them and freeze them. They are very good quality too. They have the legs for 77c lb, and the chicken thighs boneless skinless for $1.55 lb. They also have really nice produce, farm fresh, for excellent prices. It's a smaller chain store but I have been enjoying going there. They are so friendly and helpful and it always smells fresh and clean. I can't find all of the things I want there sometime but for the difference in price I can deal with that. I bought 5 lbs of golden potatoes for 50c there was a basket full of them, I looked them over good, one had a brown blemish but no rotten ones in the batch. Nice pork roasts for 99c lb.

I was at HEB looking at the chicken which was $4 lb for the boneless skinless and said to my husband, I am going across the street and getting it for $1.77lb some ladies said what did you just say? I told them that I have been buying mine directly across the street for that price. They thanked me and headed over there. I can't afford not to.

The Mt. Olive pickles are HALF what I pay! and the chicken legs are a deal! I'm paying $2.99 lb for thick sliced bacon....reg. price, it goes on sale...

Wow that ad goes on and on and on! Prices, for the most part, are comparable to where I live. Chicken legs are dirt cheap though, usually 99 cents here.

I just bought a gallon of milk this afternoon at Walmart, cheapest milk around, $3.48/gallon. Bacon in our grocery store in town, Weis Market, is $6-$8/lb. and some of the packages are actually 12 oz. instead of 16. Great price on chicken Raven.

Now, I did make out well at Kohl's last week. Go a blouse, a pair of earrings, a new throw rug for by the door, a pair of denim capris and dart board that uses bottle caps instead of darts. All for $37.98 Between buying things on sale or clearance, using a coupon for $15 off $50 and my 30% off coupon I saved $134.77

Like Katlan, milk @ Walmart here is $3.48. So I just don't shop there. :0)

We also have a little grocery store like Raven.....5lb block of cheese is $16.95, 10lbs of potatos $2.....

I don't know how the little stores can beat out the BIG box prices? But they're doing it! YAY!

Every single week on the flier is a coupon on the bottom for something free. In that one it is a dozen large eggs. It's nice to get a freebie. I get their email on occasion too with more goodies.

It takes 3.78 of our litres to make a U.S. gal.

While a litre of 10% cream is often $3.99 at our major drug store's grocery aisle, often a litre of 5% goes for $4.39 - don't ask me to explain that! Fairly frequently either of them are on sale for about $1.99.
The other day they had a "$3.00 off" sticker on a litre of 5%, as there was only a couple of days left on "Best before" code ... so I figured that $1.39 was a good buy.
When it went through the register, the quoted price was "$3.51" ... so the "$3.00 off" meant that I paid 51 cents.
As Canadian pennies expired a couple of years ago, most stores drop an additional 2 cents ... and if it's 3 cents over - you pay a nickel.
I was buying a 4-litre bag of 2% milk, which is often on sale at "3.97", but it was Senior's Thursday, so with the store's loyalty card, I was to pay $3.18.
Had the cream not been on sale, I wouldn't have bought it, so I saved an additional 2 cents that I'd have been charged for the milk ... bringing my actual price for the cream down to 49 cents.
Nice price for 1/3.78 part of a gallon of cream.

Finally I found a bargain today. $1 for a pineapple at the Dollar General Market. Our milk was $3.40/gal all winter long. Today it was back to $2.90. If I ever found the price tag much lower than that, I'd think they'd put the wrong price on it.

When you find those kinds of deals on milk, do you stock up and freeze it? I would. Ours hangs steady at $3.97 for 4 litres.

No, Sherry I do not freeze milk, it takes up too much room in my freezer, no way could I fit even a gallon in it.

Ah yes of course, the gallon jugs!! That would work if people have a freezer that's not full. Like yours Sue, ours is full to the rafters. Our milk comes in 1-litre plastic bags so it's easy to freeze if I ever see a great price.
