Comments (6)Hmmmmmm! I do like the Blue boy, but in his current condition it probably wouldn't be best to ship him right now. Sounds like your doing exactly what you should be doing to get him back on his feet (so to speak), however, so if he should make a recovery, definately let me know and I'd love to talk to you then about a trade if you'd still be interested. Really, all he needs is a few fresh new roots a good new growth that has has passed the initial iffy stages. =) Tomp_in_pa, thanks so much for offering the Cattleya deckeri, and not long ago I would have jumped at the offering, but just lately I'm thoroughly burned out on Catts in general. Long story, but I managed to acquire a truckload of them, and I'm not really into catts to begin with. So, although I really appreciate it, I think I'm gonna have to pass. Got anything else? Thanks guys!! ~Ethan...See MorePale green roots growing out of pot
Comments (10)As arthurm says, don't worry too much about roots out of the pot. When you do repot, if you can, you can tuck them back into the new pot. If not, don't worry about it. The tips of the roots should be green, which is an indication that they're active. As arthurm says, in the spring growing conditions are better....See MoreLowe's Orchid Score

I cut the plant back to the good growth and repotted. I have never seen this rotting situation in my orchids before. Anyone know what causes this....See MoreOne of my Neofinitia falcata orchids has flower spikes!
Comments (46)Robert, you're as cute as your dog. :) LOL! and I meant that in a good way. (blush) I am "SO" not doing any more plant shopping. I've run out of pots and need to figure out how I'm going to repot those 18 plants that just arrived from Logees on Weds. I did one plant so far - the tall rose-cactus was done this morning, and promptly moved outside onto the porch. Half a day of rain, and afternoon sun shouldn't hurt it any. 17 more to go....See Morevelleta tardiel
