Comments (4)Well, I saw the cooktop and the ovens! There have been a few threads here about cooktops around seating areas - safety concerns, etc. Since the search feature is probably not working, perhaps you'd like to put up a new post with just that discussion in the title. The question I have is what do you hope to do on that island? It just seems out of place in the middle of the floorplan. Have you thought about what activies are taking place in each area? Your fridge has no landing area. When you come into the house with groceries, are you putting them on the island to then unload into the fridge and pantry? Where is the pantry? Your ovens have no landing area. When you pull out that hot and delicious casserole, are you moving quickly over to the peninsula to drop it in front of your party guests? Is something hot on the stove at the same time? Is this new construction or are you remodeling an existing space? What are the limitations on wall placements, windows, etc?...See MoreKitchen Lighting Ideas for odd shaped kitchen and intrusive duct work?
Comments (2)you gave a lot of info about the walls but not the ceiling height. drop the light by the nook are to over the table. this will also get it out of the recessed area. over the fridge do a flush mount directional light. depending on a budget a rail light system is ideal. but you can also buy a light with 3-5 directional heads....See Moreneed help with my odd shaped kitchen
Comments (28)A peninsula counter/bar to eat at, can be very convenient also, but with the 45 degree angled wall opposite your right angle of kitchen counters, it may be you don't have the ability to have a direction where you cannot get out of the L of your kitchen? I have seen an L kitchen take a 2nd right hand corner for 3 feet and than kick back in to that 45 degree, to get the penisula, but again, you may need that foot traffic to go thru, right or left in the direction of your current counters, in which case a smaller L as she has above, is perfect, but access to those doors below a lower eating surface, might be fun.. The drop down, lower eating surface may be worth it though!! Try to be able to get access from the inside tho. Maybe you would not have to have a solid wall in that design?...See MoreSeth Preisler
