What tree do these seeds belong to?
Comments (3)Oh thank you very much for your fast response!! You're right, it's Ash! I think it might be Fraxinus pennsylvanica after a bit googling. Thanks saltcedar, you're awesome!...See MoreDo you belong to ABATE or other motorcycle rights org.?
Comments (14)I don't belong to any of the MC rights groups. I used to, but just didn't agree with some of their positions. I did write to two of the Quebec city officials to let them know that I would be riding right past Quebec without staying there since they don't allow motorcyles in the old city except directly to and from a hotel with which you have reservations. I did just that a couple of days ago. Now I'm about 30 miles outside Truro and heading down to Meteghan in Nova Scotia for a few days before heading home to Virginia. Actually, I have a slightly funny story. I didn't really pay attention to the ban a few years ago and I was riding around the old city looking for a jewelry store I'd been at years earlier. Couldn't find it, so I pulled up in front of a couple of policeman in a car and walked back to them. They gave me some helpful directions and then told me to continue with my shopping, but when I was done, would I be so kind as to leave the city as I really wasn't allowed there! I guess it's the French attitude!...See MoreDo you belong to AARP?
Comments (24)My wife and I have been members for several years and continue to do after we both retired. Our main perk is the motel discounts that we can get as AARP seniors. It averages about 10%. Someone in a post above said that AARP was an insurance comapany. I don't think so. They may have gotten that impression because United Health Care carries the AARP logo on the member's card. I had United Health Care as my retirement insurance several years before this logo appeared. United Health Care informed their members a couple of months before this logo appeared that they had gotten an endorsement from AARP, and that their new membership cards would carry the AARP logo. As far I know, this is a mutual benefit agremment: AARP advertises United Health Care and United Health Care proudly states that they have the endorsement of AARP and encourages membership in AARP. As far as I know, United Health Care is a company independent of AARP. The AARP magazine inform members of pending legislation that impacts their lives, and of course, is not above expressing an opinion. The publication also provides friendly reminders of things that retirees should be aware of....See MoreForced to join a club I don't want to belong to!
Comments (63)Juellie, not what I expected to read when I opened this thread. Dammit, I'm so sorry you lost your Mom. It doesn't matter if it's sudden, or drawn out, it hurts like hell. My Dad was sick for weeks before dying, 25 years ago. My Mom died 13 1/2 years ago in my arms, so suddenly it was stunning. There's nothing anyone can say or do to take this awful pain away. All I can tell you is time. Time is the only thing that will ease the "knocks you to your knees, mind numbing" pain. Talk to us all the time about your mom. Talk, and talk and talk some more. It helps. It helped me. I will pray for you that you can find peace. Hang on, and let time do its thing. I'm very sorry for your loss....See More4kids4us
