I'm so sorry. I lost my Mom 2 1/2 years ago and I still miss her so much.

I'm so sorry, Juellie. It's extra hard for you because it was unexpected so of course you're in shock. I was thinking of my mother on her birthday yesterday. She would have been 99. Still miss her so much.

It doesn't matter how old she is or how old you are, when your *mother* dies you feel like an orphaned child.

I am touched by your news. However you get through your mom's funeral I know it will be the best you can do.
The sad thing is not being able to talk to her about how scared you are to do the eulogy.

Crazy, isn't it? The whole concept is unfathomable and I can feel your tears. I went through it like so many others here and never saw myself the same as when my mom was with me. I hope you let people help you. You are not helpless but you need comforting for a long period of time. Right? Good luck dear woman.

I feel your pain. My Mom died on Good Friday 8 years ago. I still miss her every day of my life because I can't hear her putting the spin on whatever the "problem" is and leading it somewhere down the road into laughing. What's interesting is that whenever my 3 brothers or I have some big problem, we start brainstorming with "what would Mom do?" What she did was put things into perspective. She's with us all always. Love never dies. Hold on to her essence. Hold onto her guidance. Hold onto her love. My Mom is with me 8 years later. Your Mom will always be there for you, too. She lives in you.

Thank you again for the beautiful words of comfort and encouragement everyone! The funeral is today; I'll let you know how my eulogy goes.

I also am so sorry for your loss,and like chisue said it doesn't matter how old or young either of you are,it's still a painful journey..I lost my mom when i was only 9 years old,and my dad when i was in my 30's.I have also lost 7 siblings,the latest one last year,and it was my baby sister.

I still have lots of good memories of all of them,and that's what you'll cherish from now on and no one can take those away from you.

It won't be easy,but you will get thru it,there will be good days and not so good days,so cry when you need to and smile when you can.

Juellie, not what I expected to read when I opened this thread. Dammit, I'm so sorry you lost your Mom. It doesn't matter if it's sudden, or drawn out, it hurts like hell. My Dad was sick for weeks before dying, 25 years ago. My Mom died 13 1/2 years ago in my arms, so suddenly it was stunning.

There's nothing anyone can say or do to take this awful pain away. All I can tell you is time. Time is the only thing that will ease the "knocks you to your knees, mind numbing" pain.

Talk to us all the time about your mom. Talk, and talk and talk some more. It helps. It helped me.

I will pray for you that you can find peace. Hang on, and let time do its thing. I'm very sorry for your loss.

I think it's wonderful that you want to speak during this time, for your mom. My sympathy to you. Your in a club we all have to join sometime. :(

A special friend of mine is recovering from a pulmonary emobolism right now. I know how lucky we are to still have her with us. She has a new outlook on life it seems.
