There have been several threads related to a corner sink and how to avoid being trapped by the dishwasher. Just do a search and several will pop up.

FWIW, I am doing a recessed corner sink. My current sink is under a window but is not centered. In order to vent my range to the outside, I am doing a recessed corner sink. I will have a 42 inch recessed corner sink, a 15 inch trash cabinet and then the dishwasher with a panel.

I tried to have anything but a corner sink and have had several kitchen designers look at my floor plan and none could come up with any better layout. I also considered allowing my sink to stay under the window, centering it and having the dishwasher perpendicular to the sink. The KD's all felt that the corner sink provided the best layout. A few actually felt that a 9 inch cabinet between the sink and dishwasher would work as the sink will be recess.

My KD put our sink in the corner when we gutted our kitchen 15 yrs ago. It was the best fit for our kitchen. I haven't disliked it there, it gave us more counter space. Under the window and I would have been looking at my neighbors close dilapidated garage. I even considered putting a corner sink in our new build that should be completed in a couple of months, but opted for under the window since I will now be having a nice view in a new housing development. But no, it worked for me and I never regretted it. I have seen some kitchens with the stove in the corner, now that I wouldn't like.

I had a corner sink in my previous home where I lived for 21 years. I put it there and I loved it. Our new home had a corner sink already, which attracted me to the kitchen right away. My sink also is below the corner windows. There is a small cabinet next to it and then the dishwasher. No problems at all.

As long as you include at least a 12" cab between sink and DW, you'll be fine.

DWs installed right next to the sink don't provide enough floor space to stand at the sink when the DW is open. Unfortunately, there are plenty of examples of that on houzz.

I have a corner sink with a DW setup like the one above. The only reason I'm getting rid of my corner sink is because I wanted more room between sink and cook top (I'm moving cook top from the island to the perimeter) and the only way to gain enough space was to eliminate the corner sink in favor of a standard corner and the sink next to the corner on the adjacent run.

One downside, especially if you're short: it's hard to clean the deep counter behind a corner sink. If you recess it like this one, that's not as much of an issue.

The other plus with recessing it is that you gain a wider counter edge at the sink.

The downside is that it's really only usable by one person at a time. Some will say that is true for all corner sinks but DH and I haven't had a problem sharing our corner sink. It's cozy but doable. ;)

I had a corner sink at my old house and it never presented a problem for me. I'm pretty small though. A large man could have found it cramped I suppose. I liked it because I could look out the window and at people in the room at the same time. My cooktop was also on an angle at the opposite corner.
