Another bulb source you may not have thought of...
Comments (19)I just checked Amaryllis.com, and the prices seem reasonable--$12 for basic "Giant Amaryllis" bulbs, $15 for double amaryllises, and no single bulbs over $20. However, there is one problem: Shipping costs $8 for an under-$20 order, and it jumps to $10 for orders of $20-$50. This means that one double amaryllis would cost $23, which is a bit too much for me. It may be worth it if they had a wider variety, since the bulb I'm after, "Double Dragon," isn't there. I tried to e-mail the guy offering the $8 bulbs on CraigsList, but all I got back was an automated "message undeliverable" message.......See MoreOTC sleeping aides
Comments (24)Vickey, Coolmama never said her DH had a sleep apnea test nor did she say he wouldn't use the CPAP if he did. If you read her 2nd post she said: "One of my main problems is the snoring.Even out in the living room I can still hear him, with the door closed! Everyone in his family snores,so maybe they all have a sinus issue or something. The sprays and the strips that go on your nose dont help". Sounds like she is not even aware of the issues of sleep apnea. Even if she doesn't urge her DH to get tested and even though there will always be stubborn fools who won't go or won't use their machines doesn't mean other who read this thread won't learn something. If anyone is a chronic heavy snorer or has a family member that snores it is very important that the snorer seek medical advice. If they refuse to see a doctor or won't use their potentially life saving equipment then the next best thing would be to make sure you have a good life insurance policy paid up on the snorer....See MoreThought you might appreciate pics from the local botanical garden.
Comments (6)Hi everyone. Embothrium - I know it's sometimes frustrating to bromeliad growers, but unfortunately this lack of labeling seems to be a common trait in collections of plants in many botanical gardens, world wide. Although some of the larger botanical gardens display elaborate professionally made labels which are large enough to read easily, many of the others show no labels at all. This may be due to the fact that many of these smaller botanical gardens and gardens in parks owned by local councils (at least here in Australia) often have volunteers who assist with the garden upkeep. Although these people do a magnificent job of keeping the gardens clean and tidy, they are for the most part, general gardeners and not specifically bromeliad growers and in many cases wouldn't know the plant names anyway. Generally speaking, most of the people viewing these gardens aren't bromeliad growers either and have little interest in correct plant names, and it's largely a case of those responsible for the gardens, catering to the majority. If there are particular bromeliads you would like to know the names of, it's a good idea to take a few pictures from different angles, as well as a close-up or two and by posting them on sites such as this or one of the many bromeliad groups on Face Book an ID can usually be found. All the best, Nev....See MoreI thought you might like to see some pics taken hanging upside down.
Comments (22)Bonnie, I just cut the grass, sprayed weed killer and Deer Fence repellent was dragged across the yard by Shasta going after a rabbit and standing for 10 minutes alongside my shed because she wouldn't leave where the rabbit hid and now I am going out to trim the grass.....so, it looks nice but right now I'm not in love. BUT, thank you, I appreciate it....See MoreAlisande
