If you haven't read it yet, the Outlander series is excellent. I also like the "In Death" series by JD Robb.

I'm still trying to get through the 2nd Outlander books. It's boring me to tears. Been reading it when I have nothing else to read...it's on my bedside table. Thanks for the recommendations, will check out JD Robb...sounds familiar.

If you rather something fun and lighter I absolutely love Janet Evonovich's Stephenie Plum series it's laugh out loud fun. I would go in order they are numbered in the title.

Another really great author that is no longer with us is Anne George, her Southern Sisters series are light and very much fun. I just saw one of her books on Kindle is 99c right now. I have not bought books on cd in ages so no idea on prices. I have done audio formats on my phone and tablets.

I love listening to audiobooks when I go for long walks or sew. To me, the book has to be good, and it's important that the narration be good also. One of the best I've listened to is Overboard! : a true blue-water odyssey of disaster and
survival by Michael J. Tougias. Excerpt from a review:

For reading, right now I'm reading Michael J. Fox's autobiography Lucky Man : A Memoir which I'm enjoying very much. I will probably include it on a future Book of the Week.

I loved The Aviator's Wife. Based on the Lindberghs. It did not really read like a biography, just a really good story.

If you like Stephen King, 11/22/63 was very good as well.

What type of books do you like? Mystery? Comedy? Romance?

I've been enjoying the books by JA Jance. Especially the JP Beaumont series.

Have you tried Julia Spencer-Fleming's mystery series about Clare Fergusson, the Episcopal priest in the Adirondacks, and the married police chief she falls in love with? I have the last book in the series on CD, so I imagine there are audiobooks for all of them. I recommend starting at the beginning and reading them in order.

I loved Mistletoe promise and The Walk series by Richard Paul Evans.
Another one of my favorites (if your a beach person) is Summer Rental or The Fixer upper by Mary Kay Andrews.

Just keep checking your library and find what you like. I Love Danielle Steel audios also. She has a pile of them.

The Art Forger by B.A. Shapiro, Me Before You (don't have the Author's name, The Round House by Louise Erdrich

I love the Odd Thomas series by Dean Koontz. Not in-your-face horror, but a delicious story about an upstanding, sensitive, thoughtful young man who has a really unusual gift.

Still Alice by Lisa Genova is a must read in my opinion.

Nickel and Dimed: on (not) getting by in America by Barbara Ehrenreich is awesome.

Pretty much anything by Jane Smiley, although Good Faith is my favorite.

I just loved All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. Another one I adored was The Goldfinch by Donna Tarte.

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm going to save them for the next trip. I'm reading Snow Falling on Cedars now for one of the book clubs I'm in, but I have a feeling I've read this story before. I just can't remember what happens. Also reading another book club book March, about the father of the Little Women girls.

My last trip I got a Clive Cussler book on CD, I think Flamingo recommended awhile ago. I liked the story ok but the narrator's voice got on my nerves-lol. Today I got another cd book: So Cold the River by Michael Koryta, listened for the drive home and it sounded really interesting.

I also picked up a book in the new section: The Sea Garden by Marcia Willett, and then a book I saw a patient of mine reading last year: Killing Rommel by Steven Pressman and the last book I got was Black Creek Crossing in the horror section of paperbacks by John Saul...an author I hadn't read since high school.

Don't have television right now so I have lots of time to read. ( :
