Much happier with Jackson and Perkins bare root roses this season

Most of the time, people post something about vendors if they are unhappy with the products/services. I know I did. Last season I ordered 3 bare roots from Jackson and Perkins (2 Black Magic and 1 Radiant Perfume) and all three of them didn't come out of their dormant. I felt really bad because I really like a have a Black Magic in my garden and I'm still don't have it.

This season I didn't want to order bare roots from them but I need to use the refund credits so I ordered 2 Signature and 1 Pure Posh. The 2 Signature arrived with really big thick canes and the Pure Posh arrived later regular size canes but looked very healthy. Here are the pictures I took today. They have been very healthy. The extra cost of the fast shipping helped but I think J&P has improved in providing good bare root roses to customers so I want to give a shout out to them for doing a great job this season. Please keep up the good work.

I've never had any issues with J&P, but recently I've only ordered a couple of 2 quart bushes last year, Our Lady of Guadalupe, which seem to be doing good. I am glad to know you are pleased and they do look very healthy. I appreciate the info. Jackson & Perkins used to be my main rose source, until I discovered Edmunds, that was years ago. Even after I discovered Edmunds I also ordered from J&:P.

Lst Fall I planted an Ebb Tide grafted plant, a Graham Thomas own root, a Gemini grafted plant, and an Aloha own root in Sept,and early Oct. I winter protected with pine mulch in one of those plastic collars. They all survived and have been blooming their heads off this year.

Very sorry this happened to you , braverichard. I read over J&P warranty, I did not see anything being required to buy in within their stated hardiness zone for the guarantee to remain in tact. If that's their policy, they should state it, and be prepared lose most of their tree rose sales to those not in zone 7-10. I also notice that good customer service companies have some form of escalation for valid reasons that fall outside of their warranty...I recently received refunds from both Amazon and Uber for situations that fell outside their warranty, because they made sense. Wayside, J&P and esp Park seed brought me much happiness when I was a kid. It's sad to see them in decline, their offerings are not that competitive in today's world, their reviews are bad, I would guess they're not exactly profitable, either.

I ordered 5 kordes from this round of J&P sale. 2 in 2Q container, 3 in gallon pots. They are all looking great, except that Lavender Veranda has quite some yellow leaves, but still in good health overall. Can’t wait to see some blooms. Claire

If I hear more good things about J&P this year, I just might give them a shot next spring. Yours look pretty darn good.

Thank you. I received the two Signature in Jan and Pure Posh in Feb. Their pictures on HMF and J&P look beautiful and I cannot wait to see their blooms.

Talking about rose vendors, I bought two roses from Heirloom (own root) and they look great too. I am sure will buy from them again if I need own root roses.

I have been ordering most of my roses from Regan and pick them up locally. Their bare roots roses are very healthy too.
