Plant identification needed - please see photo

Dear experts, I would like to know the name of the pink flowers up front.. Is this salvia or a compact butterfly bush? Please help me name the pink perennial. what a great pink color and straight growing habit. Thank you. Eva

Way out of date but I do hope Eva did post on Name That Plant. Because over there we would have told her that this is Lythrum salicaria, not any of the above suggestions.

[NOT the IMG code] second plant.. if you could get a pic .. in focus.. of that one hanging leaf.. we might get somewhere.. if i saw those berries in summer.. i would think wild cherry.. prunus serotina.. but they should be long gone.. in nov ... the first looks so familiar.. for MI ... but i am blanking this morning ... honeysuckle.. WAG ... which is endemic in MI ... see link if you could mark the plants.. and get pic of actual leaves... or even dead ones from the ground.. it would probably be a lot easier than looking at sticks.. lol...a red berry isnt that great an ID variable by itself ... may the force be with you ... ken Here is a link that might be useful: hey honey ...

Leucanthemum vulgaris, the meadow ox eye daisy type, would have a basal rosette, and they don't grow rhizomes (IME). Symphyotrichum (aka Asters), would be my bet too, I planted/ handled some several times, this foliage reminds me of S ageratoides, only problem there are several species, sub-species and cultivars, so really tricky to be sure which it is, plus I have no clue whether they could prosper without winter dormancy, good luck, Lin

I would say yes..Salvia..I just planted some and they attract hummingbirds

I agree with sylviatexas1 . It's physostegia, common name 'obedient plant'.

I agree with floral_uk; it does look like loosestrife. here in Oregon is is a noxious weed that carries disease. Without being able to see it up close, it's tough to be sure. It is a possibility that it might be Epilobium (fire weed), but the shape of the inflorescence leads me to believe it's Lythrum salicaria.

The flowers are sufficiently clear to eliminate Epilobium. (Now renamed as Chamerion)

Physostegia virginiana, either 'Pink Manners' or 'Vivid' Obedient Plant.

This is 100% not Physostegia. It is Lythrum salicaria. Front left there are very clear flowers visible and they are utterly unlike Physostegia.

NOT salvia, NOT obedience plant (ha, opposite of that in fact!). Loosestrife, invasive when happy
