2 HVAC quotes: need to decide

I'm ignorant of HVAC, but willing to do the research to make an informed decision. I am replacing 15 year old Goodman equipment, and I was impressed with both gentlemen whom created the proposals. Each took pictures of the current install, each pointed out the same problems with the ductwork, and each did a manual J calculation before writing up the quote.

The house is in Phoenix, Arizona; 1920sf, single level, 12ft ceilings; currently has a 5 ton system that was up to the job but unbalanced (east side of house 2-3 degrees off of west side of house.)

Both report they will fix the ductwork issues they identified.

Proposal 2: Trane and Carrier dealer

AHRI 6389230 5 ton 16.0 SEER 12.5 EER Carrier

24ACB760A003 Condenser

CNPHP6024ALA Coil

58CVX110120 Furnace

TP-WEM01 WiFi Thermostat

Includes 10 year labor warranty; first year of service

Price: $12113.96 if cash; +$1100 if financed

Includes "New return air duct system for east end of house. $250" & "New condenser pad $125 to replace plastic with concrete pad." Verbally said includes dampers but I don't see a line item for it.

I did have a third proposal for about $3000 cheaper; but that installer mentioned they did the original install for the house that the other 2 say had design issues. Also, the quote was for less efficient Carrier equipment, I don't have model handy.

I would be happy to hear any and all comments.
