Momotom What model did you get? I've not had this issue even when the bottom rack is completely loaded and it always is loaded. I think the sensor for the middle rack may be in the door..I think it expects a pass from this arm every few seconds and if it doesn't get it that's when you get the warning(I could be wrong about where this sensor is it could be on the sides too). Do you have anything very tall near the door in the front of the machine? The only time I've gotten the middle arm blocked message is when something in the middle rack was sticking down through it. Chipshot I've had steel cut oats..they are like oatmeal only more oat like and chewy. I think oat bran has more fiber and carbohydrate than the meal and this is why it is so sticky and difficult. If I run cold water in the pan immediately after cooking oatmeal it will come right off...but oat bran just becomes worse. I am lazy and mostly toss in a full tab but I used 1/2 tab all last week. 1/2 tab works well but on some of the loads because they are full and heavy there was some bran left on other items(doesn't happen with full tab)..so I think a full tab is needed when you have difficult soil..however I could have used a more intense cycle with the 1/2 tab and this would have probably taken care of the bran. Then again I tend to really load items on top of each other which is not recommended either..but I do it with not much of a problem. I have two large plate inserts but have never used them. I meant to order one but ended up receiving two. These hold the plates at an angle so I think they are for tall plates not deep ones. Can your plates fit into the spaces on the right of the bottom rack? They don't have to sit upright to get clean.

I have had my Kitchen Aids (Whirlpools) for almost 10 years. In that time we've replaced the controller board twice (about every 3 years) and had multiple other pretty expensive repairs (none under warranty.) Have also had ongoing issues with them not draining at the end of a cycle which none of us or the repair people have been able to solve. I have probably spent what I paid for the machines in repairs... plus my time. So my thought process was to pay more up front and hopefully avoid the constant repair cycle, plus something with a better warranty would be great. I also did hear that the first generation duets had a lot of issues. I suspect they can't be failing this badly all over the place still. But I am reluctant, I love the capacity, but their track record has been pretty bad in our house.

Roc, I'm in a small country town and the old sheets sell at thrift stores mainly to the underprivlaged...most people around here would walk past the sheets thinking..I don't want someone else's stinky bedding LOL. Ebay often has a ton of old sheets, but they might be pricey. Personally I don't mind paying for good quality American made sheets even if I have to subject them to torture to get them clean. I recently felt a set of sheets at Bon Ton and looked at the edging..shoot they wanted 140 $ and that was on sale, I wouldn't have paid 10 $ the edging looked like something I would do nowadays with my crooked fingers, LOL and they had a underlying roughness...I pay 30 $ for the twin size at Target without a sale and their much better made than Bon Tons over priced, rough bedding. Roc, I love Target but I'm glad its an hour drive from me or I'd be there often when I can't afford to. I was there yesterday and finially got the Mrs Meyers Lemon Verbena FS..haven't used it yet so no review yet lol. I do plan to order more Vaska lavender laundry detergent tabs as I did end up enjoying them on towels.

I live in a very eastern European neighborhood in north Brooklyn and a fair amount of mom and pops carry European imports. Oddly they are all inexplicably cheap and even carry most of my favorite chocolates from the UK for 60% less than other places [Lion Bar FTW]. It's a unique experience and also great for odd jams and biscuits! After a quick look [long, actually, because it's not in english] at the box, and a google, the Henkel Polska seems to be formulated differently than the german, but based on my use so far it is working very well. I will try to get my hands on some of the actual german, do a comparison, and come back here with my findings. 2. I promise to not use blueing again. Honestly your cheat sheet is amazing! I do have the leblanc on my list-to-buy, however my husband was super wary after we installed the machine and then I bought a vast number of detergents and extra phosphate stuff for our miele dishwasher based on reading old houzz forums, so I refrained for now. I've been very careful about sudsing, when something new [but vintage linen] is purchased I run it with no detergent, prewash with sodium percarbonate, and extra rinse. It's insane when I see how much sud is in the washer when I am washing these items with no detergent. For my first few loads of normal clothing I followed your sheet, but did the measurements by half. I've tweaked with cycles and have come up with what works for our water and only the smallest trail of bubbles ends up on the bottom slope of the door glass. The Polska [not german as I OP'd, but Polish] Persil powder has almost no sud, I have not yet experimented with the Polska persil gels, however the perwoll sport worked well for my workout stuff and didn't rash me [sensitive skin] and didn't sud at all [maybe because sweat?]. I have Bosch compacts at my upstate place and for my rental property. When I wrote my initial ask here I didn't really understand them and was only using cold water and like half a cup of budget liquid detergent [it now sounds insane to me that I was doing that]. I am now using them correctly [using your cheat sheet for them too], getting exceptionally better results, and trying to figure out how to instruct my longterm tenants without sounding insane about fabric softener sheets being outlawed and them using too much soap. I now think the miele and the bosch are equal in result, the miele is just more plug and play and the cost made me actually research how to use it, vs. the bosch I just installed and walked away. Bosch are great machines; It's my own fault for not learning how to use them correctly.
