Restoration Hardware table
Comments (5)I have bought two leather chairs, a desk, a Marston nightstand, and an ottoman from RH. Very happy with all purchases. The nightstand was a little bit of a disappointment though. The sales person wrapped it in bubble wrap. When I got it home, the finished was marred with a "polka dot" pattern from the bubble wrap! I have tried waxing, but no help. RH customer service left a message yesterday asking if I was happy with purchase...I will post later their response. IMO, RH surpasses PB in quality and design. RH is more classic - most pieces are made in USA of native woods. I think of PB as more trendy (maybe more transient?) furniture made mostly with tropical woods.....See MoreRestoration Hardware's Parsons Reclaimed Russian Oak Table Care
Comments (16)I just got this table- absolutely stunning. The pictures on the website don't do it justice. I got the natural color and it does seem to have protection- it's smooth with a shine- probably a wax. It's not as rustic as I thought it would be (which is awesome). I do have a kitchen table which was finished with a powder coat from a different company. It didn't have any finish on it. I did put a carnuba wax on that which has lasted over a year with twice a day wet wipe down. I have to say that the kitchen table looks better than when I got it. The patina is beautiful. it's the look that I was after. I think if you go for the rustic look then go with the rustic look. Don't fret. I know I was getting wrapped up in staining etc initially but it didn't happen and any little mark/blemish on it is from my family and from having loving memories around the table. Who wants to live a pristine sterile life? Not me. Enjoy your furniture don't keep it so precious. Be well everyone....See MoreRestoration Hardware Trestle Salvaged Wood Dining Room Table
Comments (44)I am not familiar with tung oil at all. Our chairs are RH natural and we left as is…they have darkened since purchase and are not as dark as table. I tried to do a quick search for the techniques and did not find the one i had previously seen. I am pretty sure it was on pinterest. A few of the techniques were a bit too labor intensive for me. The legs have a lot of detail Love your chairs! Your set looks beautiful....See MoreHow do you protect your dining table?
Comments (38)I have a beautiful Stickley cherry table that was used and enjoyed for about 35 years during which time our 5 children were growing up. I had custom pads for holidays when a table cloth was used but at times used placemats with nothing else protecting it. It wasn’t terrible but I had the top refinished and then used it for another 20 years in our Bed and Breakfast with placemats, a runner, and coasters. I don’t mind the very few scratches as much as the white spots from the failure to use the coasters and a too warm cup being placed directly on it and water glass rings - so it needs to be refinished again. Now, I have another beautiful cherry table and am trying to decide if and how to protect it. Again we love the look of the wood. Has anyone had any experience with the polycarbonate cut to size protective pads that you can see through? Do they protect from the heat?...See MoreRelated Professionals
