What will take black permanent marker off interior door hardware?
Comments (18)I bought this adorable little "picture/frame" (for lack of a better word for it) today at a resale shop. It opens like a book, has a beautiful picture on the left and a lovely saying by Emily Dickinson on the right. Well, someone marked the cost of the item on the back in permanent marker. The backing is some type of heavy gold-tone metal and I thought I'd never get it off. I read this forum and first tried the Swiffer wet cloth. It got 99% of the marker off. I then used hairspray which got the remainder off. Thank you all soooooo much! Christina Here is a link that might be useful: Stevens Mom...See MoreBlack interior door - hardware color?
Comments (8)Currently brushed nickel, I had planned on replacing them to oil rubbed bronze though. I do not plan to paint the other interior doors, they will stay white. Our kitchen cabinets are cherry wood color and I have brushed nickel hardware on those too, I don’t think oil rubbed bronze would look good on those though and planned to keep the brushed nickel....See MoreNew Black double front door - hardware color??? Comments (2)Go with brushed nickel. Your door is kind of like a statement piece while also providing you security(the latter being the most important of course). A lot of times, people think they have to match hardware inside and out; not the case. I agree with your hubby, ORB does not add significant contrast to the look of your door but hey, it is not like people can see it from the sidewalk or street. Just want you to realize your front door knobs don't have to match your interior ones if you don't want to. Don't feel like you have spend a few hundred changing all of your interior doorknobs to match your exterior one. :D...See MoreWhat trim color and garage door color would match with a black door?
Comments (2)There isn't enough room to add shutters to your windows and they wouldn't look right if there were enough room. Here is a brief article on shutters so you see why they won't work on those windows in that location of your home https://www.lifeofanarchitect.com/residential-architecture-101-shutters/ Also, the door style you have chosen with the large oval is not appropriate for your home's style. It's a Victorian window (that oval). I know it's seen everywhere, but it just isn't the right style to enhance your home. Are you wanting larger window/lite in your front door? Or are you planning to paint your current door black (a better solution)?...See Moretiffanyfrye13
