Black interior door - hardware color?

I think I just messed up... Our front door is yellow on the exterior and was white on the interior. I used oil rubbed bronze hardware so there was a contract with the yellow door from the street. Well, I just painted the interior of the door black (to tie in with our black staircase spindles) and didn’t even think about how the door handle was going to look. Ugh.
Is it ok to leave it this way? Or should I replace the hardware? Although I’d like both sides to look nice, I care slightly more about the exterior look.

Leave the front door the way it is, but use brushed nickel inside.

What color is the door hardware on other interior doors in your house?

Currently brushed nickel, I had planned on replacing them to oil rubbed bronze though. I do not plan to paint the other interior doors, they will stay white. Our kitchen cabinets are cherry wood color and I have brushed nickel hardware on those too, I don’t think oil rubbed bronze would look good on those though and planned to keep the brushed nickel.

I, too, love, love painted black doors!! Due to the colors in our home, we ended up doing dark brown/black doors (Pratt & Lambert Obsidian). I love it, although I still wish I had black doors. One day, when we are repainting the house, I will choose colors that go with black! So, to your question. I would do all the same hardware, whether ORB or brushed nickel, etc. I also would do all doors the same color. I went through the same process - thinking only the first floor with brown doors but I was convinced by a colorist to treat all interior doors with the same color treatment so all the doors are brown. I don't regret it for a minute! I really love the look. Here are a few pics - all hardware is brass, as that is what was here. I love the color but I am not crazy about the style. Hi, Claire-- If you're committed to the idea of a glossy black door, I'd recommend a brushed nickel hardware to offer a contrast in terms of tone saturation (dark > lighter) and also finish luster (gloss > brushed). Would avoid black on black so folks in low-light situations will still be able to locate your hardware - important during egress situations. Cheers!

In my opinion it will look fine with the black windows, actually better than fine. Of course the overall design of the house can dictate the color of the windows as well.

If all the other interior doors are going to be the off black color, then the closet doors and bathroom doors should all be the same.

With brushed nickel on all the other interior doors, you could put it on the black door too and not change all the doors to ORB. Perhaps you just need to change the exterior door hardware to brushed nickel and then everything will match.

That is what I would do is just brushed nickel everyhere since I do not like ORB on whate doors.

Do you think brushed nickel would look ok on the exterior though?
Is it possible to switch out or paint just the interior side of the hardware?

And I am ok with not having all of my metals in the house match. In my last two homes I had to have everything be the same finish, I’ve decided to relax a bit with this house and mix and match.

Agree with Carolyn^. What you have currently on the exterior looks nice with the light fixtures, kick plate and urns, at least on my screen.
