Parked my bike and sold it about ten years ago. 71 Honda 750. Bought it new. Medium extended front fork, with king, queen seat. 4 straight pipes with baffles. Grape purple and chrome. Nothing radical but it was comfortable to me. I started to loose interest in it. Got a good price for it. Now that I have retired, I have just a little over 100 bush's of all types. I also exhibit.

Thanks Ken! That's a nice looking bike you had. I ride Honda Ruckus, Big Ruckus, Vespa GTS 300, Piaggio MP3. What made you to park the bike? :-) Getting another one/scooter someday? :-) Once a rider, always a rider. :-) i am sure you have missed chasing after the wind, the passion of riding was born when you ride a bike at the very first time, and it is always with you through your whole life time......am I right? :-) I take care my roses during the week after work before dark, ride with groups on the weekends, it's always about 100-250 miles ride each time. One time we did 350 miles in one day. It's so much fun riding with a group, they know all the good food places in the countryside.I have two nice groups to ride with. A lot of older motorcycle riders in my groups changed to scooters, they don't want to lift their legs to get on the bikes anymore, scooters are much easier and they're fast too. :-) I race motorcycles at lights all the time with my bigger scooters, and I won 100% of time so far. It's very nice to hear from you, I hope we have more riders in the rose forum. :-)

I started riding in 1967. I had a Douglas T35/ Mk5. It was an old British bike even then. Built in 1947, it was a 350cc horizontally opposed twin. I loved it to bits. We went everywhere together.

We went to the Isle of Man a few times for the TT races. This was the time when Giacomo Agostini was winning everything in sight.

In 1971 my daughter was born and I had to change my bike for a car.

I missed riding so much that in 1993 I bought a Honda CBR600cc. It was so different to an old British bike. Once I had run it in and started to use it properly it was an eye-opener. I fell in love all over again. I went back a few times to the Isle of Man...which is the best place in the world when the TT races are on....and rode that bike and subsequent models until I moved to Crete in 2007.

The roads on Crete are not at all suitable for a CBR600 and I am now an old lady, so I now have just a little 125cc Honda to have fun on now and again when I am away from my garden.

Hi Daisy! I am so glad to see one more motorcycle/scooter rider in the garden forum! :-) Three of us, we all have/had Honda bikes! You are the captain rider here for sure-started riding in 1967. :-) I started riding in 2008, purchased my first scooter-2009 Honda Ruckus(50cc), had so much fun, but couldn't keep up with Harley one day on my way to a friend's house, so moved up to a Honda Big Ruckus (250cc); then fell in love with a Piaggio Mp3; then one of my back street neighbors stopped by with his red Vespa 2 summers ago, he needed to sell it to buy a car.......it's like God dropped a Vespa right in front of me, I couldn't say no! :-) Not good at selling things, so I keep them all. Still ride Ruckus a lot within 3 miles range-gym, library and stores. Ride the bigger bikes for longer rides and busy roads. Can't wait for Spring, really miss riding, still have a lot of snow on the ground, and salt on the road. Do you wear riding gear when you ride? I only wear riding gears and fullface helmet for bigger bikes, may be I should use a gear for Ruckus too. You're in zone 10, so you can ride all year round! :-) Hope Ken can come back here with another Honda. :-)

summerseve, I didn't know the Honda Big Ruckus and the Piaggio mp3. They look like fun. The two leaning front wheels on the Piaggio are making my head spin.

My goodness! It was my first time watching a motorcycle race, I got goosebumps the whole time! I have never seen any bikes going that fast, more than 200mph at least. I hope all the riders dropped their bikes in the turns were ok, still alive, one of them went down the hill.....if I knew them I'd tell them "don't do it" many many times. I like their riding gears.

That's a beautiful island, it would be lovely to ride around (45-60mph), pack a picnic lunch...... there are not many scooters here, I saw less than 10 scooters on the road in my town last summer, so I ride with motorcycles. :-) Ride safe!
