Mitered edge with built in beverage center
Comments (15)Hi, I just wanted to follow up with my resolution. I've decided to go with a narrower mitered edge with the bottom edge that will be flush with the top of the cabinet. We will use 3/4 inch plywood plus 2cm granite which should make it about 1 1/2 inches, not as dramatic as I had originally envisioned, but some times you need to make adjustments to your vision. Now I know for my next kitchen! :). Thanks to you all for your feedback. I love the responsiveness of everyone on this forum. I'll post before and after pics when I get across the goal line!...See MoreHow should farmhouse sink meet mitered edge countertop?
Comments (22)Thanks Joseph! I see now. If they miter around the sink cut out, and drop the sink lower, it should look like it does in your picture...which looks really good. Should I ask them to keep the mitered drop to 1 inch on my 2cm quartzite, so it wont look a little too high? Does this look like 1.5" in the picture? Thanks so much for your time and help....See MoreMitered edge or flat edge with the added piece in the middle?
Comments (11)Hey bahacca! "Your" slab was still there last time I was there - but that was several weeks ago now when I got things firmed up to ship my slabs to AZ. (And it was Robert's last day. :( I liked him! He was off to bigger and better things in Seattle, WA.) Hi cmlind - I hadn't thought about what bahacca mentioned about the thinness of the edge. I decided to go with just a flat edge. This is a new build and everything has been difficult (some of my own making - like requesting a new exterior color option - and getting it!! :) so I'm just going with the normal edge to make one thing somewhat easier. I also have confidence in my fabricator because my designer said he is awesome. She also said a mitered edge was quite a bit more expensive. And, unfortunately my granite is only 2cm so there will be a seam all the way around the front of the counters that I was not going to have mitered, so... I'm going with a regular cut. I told the designer to tell the fabricator I'm pretty anal about seams so to match things up as well as utterly possible. :) Sorry to hear about your marble seam not looking good egganddart. I'm going with marble in the bathrooms and am sure there will be a seam in the 90" vanity. Although I hope not! Hope it looks ok!...See MoreOur mitered edge quartzite countertop butchered. Comments (9)Blaming the stone for this unacceptable. It is obvious that they couldnt handle this simple mitering project and they should had never accept to do it. My suggestion is to: -Show them some of properly done mitered projects to prove that it is their fault. Unfortunately I got no photos of this material in my website but I do have many pictures of other quartzite complicated projects with Cristallo quartzite or Taz Mahal . Cristallo quartzite full mitered vanity Taz Mahal quartzite polygon full mitered island Since it is not installed the right thing is to get a refound . If you cannot be refound you might be able to accept the loss of your deposit and get your stone as is. Find an appropriate fabricator that may can modify and work with whatever you got left of the quartzite plus little more of the same material to get the job done. Be sure to check some of the mitered work of the profesional you ll find before you make any deal. You can still save this job....See Morewithoutanh
