See how much a new filter pan would cost and just get a new one since you have messed up some of the holes. It might be well worth the life you have left in the machine-or check at an appliance service that might have one from an old machine that isn't gooked up. If you have a pressure washer you might could blast the gook out with it.

Ducts aren't meant to hold water, even if each joint was properly taped/sealed. That will all dry out. But you probably had water get between the duct edge and the floor. The drywall ceiling is your main concern. Water in the insulation + closed space = can't dry out, then mold and soggy drywall, etc. If you got a lot of water in there, you would have to open the ceiling in the garage, pull out the wet insulation, get rid of soggy drywall, let the ceiling dry out, replace insulation, etc. I am doing exactly this for a client that had a leaky sink fixture, apparently for a long time. They noticed it when the drywall in the garage started to get wet in spots, followed by the characteristic dark tone of mold...and that was from clean water. BTW, if your duct was basically a straight run, you might go down to the air hanndler, remove the filter, and look inside. If you had a lot of water, you may have to do some clean-up down there also.

@dag63 and anyone else that orders on line and decides to hire a "pool pro" to install it: Just my $0.02 but do you bring your own steak to the Outback and ask them to serve it too? IMHO, not buying it from the the true pro installing it is not helping him be there tomorrow. It's fine if you're going the DIY route but not to save the few dollars it might save when you intend to hire a real pro. I refuse this type of work as I have found the client has no loyalty except to the dollar. I may have financial needs but my morals and ethics mean more to me than the possible short term gain. My customers like that too. Scott

Hello to all, and are there any mason's on the boards? It's 104 here in Houston today, so I was slow/deep watering some roses and hibiscus, when I noted water going into the pool via a grout leak ifrom behind some travertine. There are three pic's enclosed. First one is a top view of where the water is coming from. It's not overflowing, but coming through the bottom of the travertine. The second pic shows that the water is coming from behind the travertine and thru the 90 joints on the left and right. The third pic shows the water going into the pool... As you can see in pic one, there is a concrete boarder that goes around the travertine, then I have rocks that if we get a 3-6" rain, this keeps the mulch from coming over the top...I've not had any water to date overflow into pool in this area, but obviously the water is penetrating from behind, going down and coming thru the grout. Looking for approaches and ideas on what I can do to fix this? If you need anything else or more pic's. pls let me know. Thank you for your help, tstex
