Such lovely gardens, Celeste! I love the beautiful variety of plants, colors and forms. A few years ago my best friend from childhood was living in an unimproved barn in NH with her eight collies and I finally convinced her to come down here to western NC where she/they could live in a house. Her descriptions and photos of the winters up there are a bit hair-raising, although I remember plenty of snow and cold from when I lived near Boston as a kid. Anyway, my friend was in the lake district area, near the border with Maine, and at one time worked in Milton. She also lived in Farmington. I told her you were on the daylily forum, and she asked where you are located, so thought I'd inquire. Also, what's your elevation? That seems to make a lot of difference in the temps, doesn't it? Yup, they are totally and thoroughly dipped in white chocolate (maybe white almond bark?) and then sprinkled with colorful candy "jimmies" (well, that's what we call them anyway)... stick a stick in them and wrap 'em in a little cello bag, then slide up the decorative cuppycake paper! :O)

Jen, I'm just now seeing this thread and LOVE the changes you've made!!! They seem to go perfectly with your style and look so darn pretty! I think your DH's hot pink choice for the table was prefect. You've inspired me to take some chances with my own too sedate porch. Questions: ~ Did you use a primer coat first on your wicker? I have no idea myself, but I do remember painting a white wicker chair dark green once, and it just seemed to absorb the paint! Like yours, it took several cans to get it covered. I wonder if I should prime my wood table first before painting it? ~ Did you use a sealant on it afterwards? ~ Are you planning on painting the coffee table base? If so, what color? Anyhoo, I think your porch reno was a huge success and can't wait to see it with that (fantastic!) rug when it arrives. Keep the pics coming! Lynn

I don't have that sink but lots of people have posted about it -- you can do a search either here or at Ikeafans for Domsjo sink reviews. I've seen it at Ikea; it's made of ceramic and is very nice looking in person. Not saying that the pp is a snob but one shouldn't assume something is poor quality just because it's inexpensive... also those countertops are concrete, not soapstone, and probably DIY since the total kitchen reno cost was $5000. I didn't get the Ikea sink mostly because I had a white sink before and was ready for a change. It is one of the few sinks I saw for under $1K that extends the full depth of the countertop (front to back) -- would have been perfect for our wood countertops. I don't know how well the ceramic wears. The double version is huge.
