RAL colors? is 5013 'cobalt blue'?
Comments (9)I have an RAL color chart from IFS Coatings. I almost got my Bluestar in cobalt, until I chickened out and went with creamy white instead (RAL 9010). I had no idea you could map RAL to Pantone... anyway, you really want to check the colors from your own chart, and in lighting conditions similar to your kitchen. Ordering from an on-line color chart is a good way to get a surprise. I have a cobalt Kitchenaid immersion blender. It's a very dark blue and at least at night, RAL5013 and 5022 look pretty close....See MoreKitchenAid Mixer - Sea glass or azure blue
Comments (22)Various thoughts: I'm just too practical ever to sell a perfectly good Kitchen Aid mixer just because I'm using new colors. Don't choose based upon glass bowl vs. metal bowl. You can buy additional bowls -- they're not cheap, but they're also not terribly expensive. You'll probably want to add accessories to your Kitchen Aid as time passes anyway. If you go with a white kitchen, I think either one will look great. ALL kitchens look better in gussied-up magazine pictures. They take the picture when the kitchen is perfectly clean, in the best possible light, showing an unlikely amount of empty counterspace, and lovely-but-impractical things out as accessories (really, when did a lovely glass dish of lemons -- and nothing else -- ever grace your kitchen counters?). When you remodel, are you sure you'll want to leave the Kitchen Aid out on the counter, or will you choose to place it on a pop-up and keep it tucked away in the cabinets?...See MoreQuestions About Hobart KitchenAid Mixer
Comments (32)Unlike some other message boards, people here don't look in much at old threads because they figure new messages are spam. You're very welcome to start a new thread of your own. We don't have thread police. You'll probably get a lot more answers. Additionally, you can choose to have one thread show both here in Cooking and also in Appliances, which might be useful. My opinion, and it's opinion only, is that while the old Hobarts were superior machines, they're only good buys if you know how to recondition and service them well (or want to learn and know where to get help). Second hand on new-ish ones from someone whose habits you know and approve of is fine. Or barely used in the box with all its accessories. Otherwise, you're taking on someone else's problems. You might also get a good deal, with a warranty on "scratch and dent", open box, display models, etc. Just don't go for a "demonstrator", which will likely have heavy use. If you frequently have uses that require a heavier duty mixer than your Artisan, getting a stronger mixer makes sense. I can't figure out from your post whether it was the meat that was partly frozen or if the mixer froze while mixing the meat. The Artisan is great for normal baking chores, including lighter breads, but it's not quite there for heavier breads without reducing the batch or other compromises. The meat might just be too much for the model, especially if there wasn't much liquid in the mix. I don't like to use the mixer for meat anyway. It gets too dense from that much handling, so I go old fashioned, put on food handling disposable gloves, and use my hands (I wonder if there's a better way to mix the meat than with the flat paddle?). I can't advise you about models. Do consider starting your own thread....See MorePlease humor me again ... KitchenAid mixer colors
Comments (263)LOL, auntjen I just bought a red one for my FL kitchen from TJ max. With glass bowl. It will replace my perfectly functional white one. And then I bought the matching red toaster. Which will also replace a perfectly functional toaster. This has prompted me to begin looking at red dinnerware to match even though I of course have dinnerware... So clearly I have some problems ! I'll be listing the other mixer on craigslist at least......See MoreUser
