Someone have a link for free Chrome browser?

I have been having troubles downloading files from sites, FF does it's thing, and if I don't change the whole thing, many times, I lose my files I just downloaded for some reason. Just started doing this. someone suggested Chrome, and I am willing to give it a try, sure will be a readjustment, and I am sure I will be wringing my hands, and asking for help, but would like to see what develops and if it becomes easier to download the files. thanks to anyone.

I'm not sure if I quite understand, but you are wanting to download the Google Chrome browser to use instead of Firefox, correct? If so, here's the link to the Windows desktop version.

All the browsers were up-dated the day before. And last week Google chrome failed miserably in some speed test. "Microsoft is also touting IE9Âs "hardware accelerated" HTML5 capabilities. However, in our testing, IE9 was not significantly faster or smoother rendering the demo page on MicrosoftÂs site than were Firefox, Safari or Opera. Related or not? I like FF as it has been personalized with add-ons for my convenience. However, the versions released over the last several years have increasingly failed to open sites, complete a view offering, and resulting in more dead hyper-links. And many sites are important sites to me. V39.0 is now the worst with the most failures. It's not a security settings issue, and its not add-ons blocking a page's ability to load as it occurs with add-ons disabled. It's not an AdBlock issue. The effected pages work just fine in IE, Opera, Chrome, and Slimbrowser. I am approaching the need to drop FF altogether. Sad! I've spent nearly a whole day to deal with the problem weeks ago. I did not notice it until one day I wanted to search something. I was too lucky to find this post which lists detailed and free steps including deleting system files. Hope this works for you as well!

I've never heard of an unsafe timer. Have you? Phones as per Lindsey's suggestion. If you're using a PC or tablet, type the word Timer on the address line of a browser or on the search line of any search engine (Google, Bing, etc) and a Timer will appear.

In Firefox, you can click Tools, then Options. On the General tab, you can choose where downloads are stored. The default is the Download folder. You can also choose 'Ask me where to save files' and then when you download, you will get a dialog box asking you what to name it and where to save it.

For some reason, I can't get the downloads to go to the folder I have named as downloads, believe at some time in the past I had deleted the original download folder in documents, but was sure it could be renamed and still would download there. Not so in this case. Would that really have been a stratgetic error?
Trying the Chrome just in case I am continuing to have a problem downloading.

I do not see a download of Chrome for W7, is this already passe?

Click the link from asm198's post. It has W7 listed under the blue "Download Chrome" box.

Make sure you change to get 64bit and NOT 32bit as that link shows for.

Click on "Download Chrome for another platform" and the 64bit is there.

I got my Chrome from there a couple days ago for my new windows 7 tower I just bought.

I also have been using Chrome on my windows 7 laptop because it is faster than the other browsers.

When you click to DL something, it automatically goes to the Downloads file in your personal folder.

PS: I had to get used to that. I preferred to have a choice to where I wanted my DL's to go. Mainly a folder I named myself. If there is that option with Chrome, I haven't hunted to see.

Thanks for the info, guess I missed the print, and will recheck. I will take the downloading folder under advisement, as I currently use the desktop to be sure I get them where I can see them Thanks for pointing those things out, appreciate your help a great deal.
