Someone have a link for free Chrome browser?

I have been having troubles downloading files from sites, FF does it's thing, and if I don't change the whole thing, many times, I lose my files I just downloaded for some reason. Just started doing this. someone suggested Chrome, and I am willing to give it a try, sure will be a readjustment, and I am sure I will be wringing my hands, and asking for help, but would like to see what develops and if it becomes easier to download the files. thanks to anyone.

I'm not sure if I quite understand, but you are wanting to download the Google Chrome browser to use instead of Firefox, correct? If so, here's the link to the Windows desktop version.

I too would be happy to pay postage if no one in your area comes forward. My story is that at my previous home, over the years that I lived there,I purchased, traded, was given and gave away many, many plants and seeds. Much of these were from rare plants and most of my plants where not seen in your typical garden. Since moving out to the country, I am kicking myself for not taking cuttings, bulbs or seeds from my favorite plants. I had the most wonderful varieties of species tulips, the smaller extremely fragrant daffodils (earlicheer and more). Azalea Hilda Niblets which were my all time favorites among many other varieties of azaleas. I had Dog's Tooth Violet, perennial geraniums, rare tulips and a unique variety of the large cupped daffodils. Many, many varieties of fragrant hosta's, Daphne Burkwoodi (sp), Princes Diana Rosebush, an extremely fragrant honeysuckle for which I do not know the name of, ornamental lilies, a beautiful ornamental weeping tree, and too many more plants and shrubs to list. We are here in the beautiful country with no plants at all. It is apparent that the person who owned this home prior to us did not like to garden. Our home would be much improved if we could add some splashes of color around it. It sure would brighten my days for sure! Thank you! :)

Ravencajun...thanks ...I didn't know you could have two browsers....I learn something new everyday...LOL Jean Mi....yes, I know about the 3 horizontal bars but I was looking for IE Menu...with File-Edit-View-Insert-etc...but I could live without it because Google Chrome is so fast.... Okay, I removed the version I had installed (64bit) and installed the regular 32bit version. I also deleted history, etc. as you suggested. I have no extensions active at this point, and only have a start page designated. I'll try it bare-boned like this tonight and see how it goes. Afterwards, I guess I'll slowly add back bookmarks that I use regularly as I needed to really clean that out anyway, and if I make any changes at all, I'll make only one at a time, letting some time elapse before making any other changes. Surely hope this does the job.

Can someone recommend a free timer that I can download?

I've never heard of an unsafe timer. Have you? Phones as per Lindsey's suggestion. If you're using a PC or tablet, type the word Timer on the address line of a browser or on the search line of any search engine (Google, Bing, etc) and a Timer will appear.

In Firefox, you can click Tools, then Options. On the General tab, you can choose where downloads are stored. The default is the Download folder. You can also choose 'Ask me where to save files' and then when you download, you will get a dialog box asking you what to name it and where to save it.

For some reason, I can't get the downloads to go to the folder I have named as downloads, believe at some time in the past I had deleted the original download folder in documents, but was sure it could be renamed and still would download there. Not so in this case. Would that really have been a stratgetic error?
Trying the Chrome just in case I am continuing to have a problem downloading.

I do not see a download of Chrome for W7, is this already passe?

Click the link from asm198's post. It has W7 listed under the blue "Download Chrome" box.

Make sure you change to get 64bit and NOT 32bit as that link shows for.

Click on "Download Chrome for another platform" and the 64bit is there.

I got my Chrome from there a couple days ago for my new windows 7 tower I just bought.

I also have been using Chrome on my windows 7 laptop because it is faster than the other browsers.

When you click to DL something, it automatically goes to the Downloads file in your personal folder.

PS: I had to get used to that. I preferred to have a choice to where I wanted my DL's to go. Mainly a folder I named myself. If there is that option with Chrome, I haven't hunted to see.

Thanks for the info, guess I missed the print, and will recheck. I will take the downloading folder under advisement, as I currently use the desktop to be sure I get them where I can see them Thanks for pointing those things out, appreciate your help a great deal.
