Comments (7)I'll straight up admit to liking the pink bathroom fixtures you had. They've got a charm to them! That said, the bathroom now looks elegant. Agree that craigslist could be a good deal for you and someone looking for pink fixtures....See MorePink bathroom to white bathroom
Comments (4)Lol yes I totally understand and can imagine that having a properly done remodel is worth so much peace of mind. The pink was lovely (though I was not a fan of those old floors.... just my opinion I know many people loved them) but I also think just not having that tower that was probably kind of needed for storage, was a huge improvement. Your update is tasteful and timeless indeed....See MoreTo redo or not, 50s pink bathroom
Comments (37)I also agree that if one is not in the business of flipping and has significant ties with greater workers as well as being able to source materials at professional prices, it makes no sense to renovate as a sure fire way to increase resale value. Most major remodel projects are going to cost FAR more than anticipated and be an emotional and physically disruptive experience. I view my condo as a microcosm because it was built in 1965 with some units in their original hideous condition - acrylic showers and all in one tubs; popcorn ceiling as well as what I think were essentially thin plywood slab doors :-). I see what completely virgin units sell for and what completely flipped units sell for and there isn't any way an amateur would be able to make money on the flip given what it is going to cost them for the job as well as carrying costs. In terms of the original poster, her house was built in a certain era and contains period details that are prized by many people just as people now treasure Spanish Colonial, Art Deco, MCM, Craftsmen and other authentic period details. So to put in what is currently trendy - i.e. gray "spa" looking bath or any other contemporary look is not necessarily going to attract more buyers versus a really well done renovation that respects the bones of the house....See MoreHelp with fun ideas for pink bathroom
Comments (3)Love the flamingo wallpaper. When you say you aren't ready to renovate, what plans do you have? Are you thinking of changing the footprint? If not, have you thought of switching to a pedestal sink? That was probably what there was originally. It would fit better and open the space visually. If you would consider that, start looking in salvage yards for a matching pink sink....See More- 9 years ago
