Replacement Shade Trees for Empress Trees (Paulownia tomentosa)

Well, we've decided to take the huge step in removing our Empress trees. They are just too messy and too dangerous (poor growth habit + soft wood = large branches breaking and crashing down). Although the flowers are lovely, and the large leaves provide excellent shade, just too many downsides besides the potentially fatal branch drop, including being deciduous, having sticky seed pods that drop as well as little white seedling flecks, a zillion volunteers that quickly and deeply root that can be difficult to pull out, and way way too much leaf litter. Besides just being downright dangerous. So, we need some good suggestions. We want tall at least 30' at maturity), spreading canopy, non-invasive roots, non-littering (as much as possible) and evergreen or almost so. Also, not soft wood, as we don't want a branch coming down on our heads. So, here's my short list so far, but would love other suggestions or comments on my list of options:

Afrocarpus gracilor (African Fern Pine)

Schinus terebinthifolius (Brazilian Pepper)

Acacia salicina (Willow Acacia)

Bracychiton populneus (Australian Bottle)

Ulmus parvifolia 'Allee' (Alee Chinese Elm)

Ficus microcarpa (Indian Laurel)
