I could have sworn...

I could have sworn I posted about the Christmas fund you all mentioned last November. I began an account with Tangerine, and rather than put in $1 for week one, $2 for week 2, $20 for week 20 and so on, I split the grand total by 52 weeks and put in $26.50 a week. I also collect interest on that money and after only 12 weeks, I'm at the 25 week level (I did deposit a $9 Ebates refund too).

How are all you all doing with your funds so far? I'm really happy I found that thread and decided to do it too. I know Christmas dinner is already paid for. LOL At least we can eat.....

Anyway, where did my post go? I'm positive I posted it and even showed a picture in it. This morning, it's gone. :(

Deeby, that's a great idea to split it up to $26.50 a week. I think it makes it easier to achieve, especially when you get past week 26!

Hoya diptera is a pretty care free plant to grow so I am sure you won't have trouble with it. Hoya buotii grows super fast but it likes to be moist so keep an eye on it. I have my plant in bright light close to a South window and it does very well there. Hoya thompsonii has been slow for me. It likes to be moist but with those thick succulent leaves drying out does not bother it either. Hoya chingungensis can be treated like Hoya lanceolata bella. You should find this one easy as you do very well with your bella. Mike

Recipe? Can't remember! But I'll tell you what I did. First off, I used a package mix for the BBQ seasoning so I could get a taste for what I wanted to use. Next time around I'll play with a five spice powder recipe. Ingredients on this one is sugar, powdered soy sauce, onion and garlic powders, 'spices', red dye #3. Marinated chicken thighs, grilled 'em, then chopped into small pieces. Cooked and ready to stuff - I used a regular white dough recipe, nothing special. When that happens to me I just assume I forgot to hit submit. It's only happened to me once since the change.

Another suggestion earlier was that, to get away from the easy ride in the early part of the year ... but a rather heavy load toward the end, that one put the numbers from 1 to 52 into a hat, pull out a number each week, and deposit that number of dollars into the Christmas savings account at that time.

Good idea to save a little more weekly, to build a cushion that could ease the load in the heavy weeks.

It could help to get an emergency fund started, as well.
