Help with persistent email!

Att mail, yahoo..... comes up first, no matter what I open. There will be a second tab behind the first one, and I can click on it to get whatever I am looking for..... but why does this happen? I don't know what I may have clicked on. I use Google Chrome. Dell laptop.......Ideas? Thanks.

To stop getting email notifications, go to "Your Houzz" at upper right of the screen. Click on edit profile. Beneath the email name update spaces is a long list of email opt out options. Uncheck everything that might be checked that you don't want and select "never" for whatever other options you might not want.

I'm not on Yahoo mail, but that should be a universal fix for everyone. Worked for me on gmail and I haven't gotten anything related since I cleared the onslaught out on day 1.

I'm sorry... didn't make it clear. It is not just notifications..... the whole opening page from ATT Yahoo shows up, every time I try to open anything.

If I click on Facebook, I get ATT Yahoo, with another tab hiding behind it, saying Facebook. If I click on Ancestry, there is ATT Yahoo, right in front, with the tab for Ancestry lurking behind.

Selective memory, selective reasoning. I also find the variabilities of human nature are evident in contrasting that long Viking thread with the recent Bluestar threads. No one in that Viking thread flames anyone. No one says the complainers are imagining their problems, or that their problems aren't legitimate. The thread was regarded as an interesting compilation of issues with a particular manufacturer. Even the oft-harsh Guadalupe provided a reasonable post. Why are the BS people so different? Why so antagonistic on both sides? Why the anger when a BS owner enumerates repairs? I guess we need a psychologist to chime in!

OK, got a full installation of linux dual-booted w/windows 7. Risky and at first bootup, windows "disappeared" -- I could only boot to the linux partition. With the help of EasyBCD, finally got it working and EasyBCD doesn't change the windows mbr (master boot record), just adds a small, custom mbr on the windows partition that links to the linux (3rd) partition when you choose linux from the bootup menu -- a simple & noninvasive method. If I had to reinstall windows, it would be easy/quick to set things back up for the dual-boot.

Thanks for the update. I did not feel up to much of anything on Sunday, just a little yard work, where it was not too soggy. Transplanting ajuga into wet ground. I have a lot of pain days due to recent knee surgery. I bought a Crimson Fans mukdenia last summer! It never had the fall color I was hoping for, but maybe that was because it was new. But still, it survived the winter in a bed where a lot died (lack of snow cover, I believe, or too much rain) . It was up earlier than almost anything else, and looks great.

Large fruit and persistent fruit tend not to be mutually common characteristics on most crabs, unfortunately. In general, those that bear larger fruit (greater than 1/2 inch diameter), like the Chestnut above, tend not to hold on to the ripe fruit and it will drop like a normal apple would. The vast majority of crabapples with persistent fruit - and there's a bunch - are grown more for ornamental purposes and will have small to tiny fruit that hangs on through winter or until consumed by wildlife. They are still edible and good for ciders or jams/jellies.......just hard to work with because of size. btw, Chestnut, because of the size fruit it produces, is just on the cusp of being classified as an apple rather than a crabapple.

Have you gone into Chrome settings and checked your start up page options?

Sounds like you had two pages(tabs) open when you pressed that button that says something about.. set your home page to current.

Go to the page you want to use as your homepage, then without any other tabs open, reset the home page.

Many thanks to all who helped. I really appreciate the support. I have to tell you, after all but crying in frustration, and eating all the dark chocolate I could manage, the dratted thing is working all right and i have no idea why. I do have a starting place when it happens again. Thank each of you again!

It was Dove Bliss, I think. Heart shapes. The Strawberry Swirl is all gone, but there are still a few Darks left. Also found that the Kroger Black Walnut ice cream dulled the pain a bit. Seriously, I never did find the problem. It just quit on its own. I'm so glad you kind folks are here!
